 The Owlery
The Owlery, where the school owls and the owls belonging to students live, is located on the top of West Tower. The Owlery was a circular stone room, rather cold and drafty, because none of the windows had glass in them. The floor was entirely covered in straw, owl droppings, and the regurgitated skeletons of mice and voles.

Illuminatus was alone in the owlery, carrying out his detention, when suddenly the light in the room turned green. A man stood in the doorway, long hair streaming in an unfelt wind. "Illuminatus..." It whispered. "You have much potential. Much raw power. You are strong enough to wreak havoc on those who oppose you. Remember that, and I will assist you." The man vanished, leaving Illuminatus blinking in shock. The seeds of temptation had been planted.
