The Headmistress' Office
Hello and welcome to my office, I'm your headmistress Lillix or Lily as I prefered to be called. Please call me Professor Lily. Please take a seat, help yourself to a lemon drop.
The entrance to the headmistress' office at Hogwarts is behind a statue of a gargoyle. When given the proper password, the gargoyle will leap aside, and the wall behind it will split in two to reveal a spiral stone staircase that moves like an escalator. Once in the door, visitors ride on a spiral stone staircase that moves slowly upward as the gargoyle's entrance closes behind them. The staircase leads to a highly polished oak door with a brass knocker in the shape of a griffin. The door is not sound-proof; a visitor standing on the staircase can hear anyone speaking in the room inside, although not necessarily distinctly unless the speakers' voices are raised. The oak door opens into a large and beautiful circular room with windows, at least one of which faces east with a view of some of the mountains surrounding the castle. The windows also afford a view of the Quidditch pitch. The walls of the office are covered with portraits of previous Headmasters and Headmistresses. The wall immediately behind the Headmaster's desk has a shelf holding the Sorting Hat. Gryffindor's sword is kept in a glass case beside the Sorting Hat. Another wall of the office holds a fireplace that can be connected to the Floo Network when needed.

"Lily!" shouted Rowena, quickly saying the password and running to the headmistress's door. It opened for her and she walked inside. Her skirts were completely ruined from the chamber and Agrippina's skin was now more oily than usual.
She picked up her cat, cradling it once more in her arms.
"Kirra and I went to the Chamber, something's down there and it's not just a dead snake!" gasped Rowena. "She's been injured, I took her to the hospital wing!" Rowena finished her sentence, gasping and heaving for air. Agrippina growled as she laid her head on Rowena's elbow.

Rowena was frantic, then she saw a patronus at the door. It was Kirra's. Instantly she bolted out of the headmistress's office, leaving the woman confused.
The sly little Agrippina, stood still, waiting for the headmistress to respond.

Lily stood and frantically ran after Rowena to help out carrying her Phoenix Minx with her just in case.

"Butterbeer. Chocolate frog! Cockroach cluster! Lemon drop! Tequila, god damn it!" Illuminatus was improvising passwords and hitting the gargoyle with spells. "Why the hell does the Headmistress barricade herself in her office so nobody can talk to her?" He accidentally set his cloak on fire as a spell rebounded from the gargoyle. The flames covered the surface of his cloak, though they did not burn it nor him. He laughed, enjoying the flames that rippled around his cloak.

Lily approched the door to her office, having just left the staff room. "Illuminatus may I ask what it is exactly that you are doing?" Lily asked bewildered at his burning robes.

"Nothing." His robes returned to their shadowy state and he asked, "What if I was put in the wrong house? Does the sorting hat make mistakes?"

Lily smiled. "No the sorting hat doesn't make mistakes my dear. You were put in Slytherin because you have a desire to prove yourself, because you are ambitious and intelligent." She assured him. "Though Slytherin's reputation has been tarnished some, there have been great wizards from Slytherin. And the Sorting Hat saw your potential."

Illuminatus's eyes flared. "I've studied magical history for ages, and Slytherin is the house of fools, of power-hungry idiots who never bothered to evaluate their enemy. Voldemort condemned goodness and it lead to his downfall. Grindelwald tortured the wrong people for ages before finding out his mistake. If I was to take control, I'd use the enemy's own power against them!" He finished angrily, cloak rippling in an unseen wind.

Lily frowned. "The Sorting Hat put you in Slytherin, and as I am aware it did consider Ravenclaw. But you were put into Slytherin, so if you are unhappy with Slytherin's reputation then why don't you be the first from Slytherin to accomplish great things for good?" Lily asked folding her arms and looking up at him curiously.

"To restore Slytherin's reputation would be great, but having to endure things like, "Were you put in the wrong house?" and to be looked at suspiciously with every act would be difficult. Sometimes it's easier to blend in." He grabbed his shoulder, as if remembering some horrible moment from his past as a result of his desire to be different.

"Just because you are in Slytherin, doesn't mean your friends have to be." Lily explained. "No matter what other people think, if you are a good person chances are you will attract other good people and you won't be alone." She continued trying to explain. "The Sorting Hat never lies, you would have done well in Ravenclaw, but you can do well in Slytherin also. Even Harry Potter was nearly placed into Slytherin." She reassured him. "Your house does not define you as much as you might think."

"Harry Potter almost a Slytherin? Hmm. Maybe you're right. Forgive me, but I've been so tethered by being forced to blend into the muggle world that I forget that I could be unique. Thank you, professor. You've made my path clear to me. I am proud to be a Slytherin now.."

Lily grinned. "I'm glad. People often judge others by their houses, but someday you will graduate Hogwarts and houses will be gone and there will be only people and it will no longer matter what house you were in." She added. "Good luck with your studies this year."
