I had one based off of Hellgate London in which several people that end up as tools for the higher-ranked demons end up being transformed into their most faithful minions, bound mentally. However, those higher demons end up getting killed, and their bonds released.

Just thought of another one:
Through either magical or radioactive means, a group of zoo animals gain intellect and hybrid forms. They form a militant faction dedicated to protecting nature from the damage humans do to it (think PETA and Earth First run by furries). Their method is to transform all humans into hybrid-form animals, reasoning that if humans are animals too, and therefore undeniably a part of nature, they'll rethink their actions regarding nature.
People could play either an altered animal (working either for or against the movement) or a human who is changed (and then works with or against the movement).

This suggestion isn't precisely from me, but do the people from the old TF guild remember the "Dream" rp? I enjoyed that one immensly.
