Yep. Looks okay, I guess. It just seems a bit... crowded? I suppose we'll have to wait for the release to see how good/bad it is, though. Speculations?

From what I can see, I'm excited. I mean... I'm miffed that they've once again moved the avatar, gold count, and such important features around AGAIN (it's going to take getting used to), but there are a number of things I like.
*There appears to be MUCH less blank, white space. MAJOR plus!
*I get my full-sized avatar back. Yay!
*Backgrounds are back AND plentiful. I can't wait to see all of the backgrounds for the towns!
*The map makes the... well... map more prominent again, giving the feel that you're actually strolling through town.
*The design appears MUCH less childish. Blockier and with more muted colors. Not "fun" shapes everywhere and clashing colors.
I just hope the changes extend to the forums.

Oh, god yes. No more sunglasses while in guilds/forums. I would send them a box of cookies, or something. x.o
I think my only complaint, really, is readjusting myself to navigation and semi-crowdiness. Very easy to live with. xD

I'm super happy with it, I don't think I have a single complaint for the new look.
And yes I love that they're putting the world map back into some good use.
Instead of how it is now, just swept off to the side.
And no more kiddiness look!! whee heart

I'm a little sad that they're getting rid of the old logo, the only consistent part of our layout through the years... But just a little. I probably won't even notice it when the change does occur, since I'll be too busy clicking in the wrong places to get to things. Or staring at the screen while trying to figure out where the link went. rofl At least I won't be staring at white... Dull colors = heart
Huzzah for fullsized avatars! I hate having to go to my inventory page just to see it at a decent size.
Actually, the only thing I don't really like about that screenshot is Sam. I like Sam, but she just looks off there. xp

I'm excited!
It looks a little crowded, but it resembles the front login page a little bit, which I like a lot.
I hope they limit the width of the page instead of letting it stretch to fit your screen... I just got widescreen and everything looks insanely long and hideous for me.

The "G" in the Gaia logo isn't capitalized anymore.... why? Is this in response to the majority of users that don't like proper grammar?

The small g is just more aesthetically pleasing. It mirrors the a's, but the tail also goes off in the other direction for balance.
You don't find proper grammar in logos most of the time. Some use all small. Some use all caps. Neither is right, but sometimes more visually apealling as a graphic.

I'm thinking they like changing the layout just as I become resigned to the current one. D: Which worries me that they'll change that layout quickly.
I like the way it looks a lot - the logo change does make me a little sad, but I really don't like the current logo in orange, so oh well. And the new logo is pretty nifty looking. (Does this mean the G that the Admin avatar has for like a tie-pin or whatever will change, too?)
I'm so glad they're bringing back the world map, too. I've missed it! I mean, I know you can go look at it, but it's kind of a hassle to get to and vaguely pointless.
Also, the little counters that tell you how many people are in towns, games, and whatever else they'll have them for. Reminds me of when you could see a list of every user that was logged on and all the users in a specific forum were listed at the top. I liked that, so I'm glad they're bringing back even a different version of it.
The colors are much better. No more wannabe-beachy crap with too much white. x.x
...I'm also curious as to the "first-ever summer festival." o.O

I can't believe people are so pissed about it after just a preview. I mean... I couldn't tell how much I was going to hate this layout until they actually implemented it. Bunch of drama queens.
And I think half of them are making "joke" threads or trolling. That should really be dealt with before the admins go thinking they're serious. Since the admins don't seem to have a common sense filter.

I for one actually like the looks of it a lot better. I saw the screenshot a while back on a dev's journal or whatever.. but yeah, I'm excited. Unless it does end up looking weird in actuality, I'm kind of pleased with it. I think the current layout is ugly. gonk

i really, really like it. i like that they're moving away from kiddie logos (and "angsty teenager" paint spatters), and reflecting the more mature elements of the community - those of us out of high school have long been relegated to the sidelines and made to feel vaguely creepy for being on such a "childish" site. i like the new logo (although i like it better with the wing over the i, as Silver Archangel suggests in his SF thread). i LOVE the fact that the avatars are going back to full size and that the maps are coming back. i'm happy that they're making it less bright, because even though i don't have eye issues, it's still effin' bright.
I'm sure i'll find something to dislike, but in large part, it's a great change.
