Okay this is a picture of my New horse May i love her to death. heart heart heart heart here is her info

She is

Age: 4
Gender: Filly
Breed: Arabian/Missouri foxtrotter cross
Colour: Chesnut
Date of Birth: May 5, 03
Uses: Halter, Western pleasure recreation, western pleasure, trail, and i am going to train her in 4-h.

here is the story...
I got straight a's i get a horse. I have been riding for 4 yrs. I enjoy gymkanas, Barrel racing, Showing, and trail rides xd
Maisy is now my horse but on part of the conditions of me buying her since she is trained to be "soft" or that kind of clintin roberts stuff. THe guy that i bought her from has a stable and raised foxtrotters. He is going to give me free lessons for a month or until he sees that i am safe and can do anything i wish with her. I am not complaining about this thought his barn is beatiful. There are stalls and an indoor arena. Roundpin. Middle arena. Big arena. Paddocks. Feilds. On staff vet. Special farrier that comes from another state and so much more. So what else better than to do that record my progress on my new horse. I hope you enjoy and check back often for weekly updates because i am to ride in lessons for at least three days a week heart User Image

I rode maisy for the first time today. She was very soft. Very fast also. I had her lunging at a canter/gallop today for at least 15 minutes without taking a break. Gosh she has endurance.

I rode her agian this time, my instructor had me work on turning her. She is a very sharp turner. And again very fast...

TOday i went out and rode her. And fitted my saddle. On her. I already had a saddle before i got a horse. HOw goofy is that? aculy not really. It was given to me for riding a horse. But it fit her perfectly so i am going to go ahead and take it down to the saddlry and get the sturrips replaced. Its eather that or buy a new one.

Today I went and rode her. A couple of our horse neighbors came out to look at her. They loved her. I rode for quite a while. I am really trying to work on soft hands. Bad horse habits are very hard to break. Seriously. I can not belive this but i aculy need to work on heels down toes up. And to think my other instructor let me train, Race, and be in a rodeo like that. In case you don't know i am a barrel racer. That is not my main foucous just one of my majors. I hate barrels horses so i just train them for the barrels and make sure that is not their only use thougt. Because most of theose barrel horses are not very useful at all. I should know...

I got my saddle back today. My dad thought volentered to use my saddle on the horse. But you see i got new sturrips. So now since i rode in them and the leather was not trained i think i got beat up by a saddle. Ah life is good.. oh and i got a new cinch. My other one was a fluffy cinch ( weaver i forget what it was called somting smart..) But it was 36 and it was fit for appahce the other horse that my neightbor has me ride because he dosent have the energy. So my dad bought me a fluffy 32 inch because my horse is tiny. I also got my bridle today. We had it made by the guy that we bought my horse. From its in a pretty green. Its a hacamore with a running martingale. No bits for my horse. Grr bits... But any way its a really pretty bridel i will have to get a picture of it. We got it for 175. So that was pretty good. I still need a new backcinch and maby a breast collor. I don't know that i can use one with the martingale thought. But any way. i still need a couple of more things for my grooming kit. I also did some major stuff on my saddle today. I sanded all of the dry rot away. Belive it or not that does happpen when you live in the desert. But the saddle was given too my and now every thing on it is new. Except the seat. And the tree. Which is in very good condition considering how old the saddle is. But the saddle is perfect it fits my horse, Me, and now i have about 350 dollars in it. So i really hope it lasts my. Is so funny on how much horses cost. here is my list that my dad had to pay so far

I rode maisy Sunday on a first trail ride. Gosh that horse has a walk faster than a runaway train i tell you!!! She was like zoom zoom zoom. It was crazy. Anyway Jim had my bridle made for me when i arrived. He just said go look in the office I've got a gift for you. And there it was i swear it is the prettist bridle that i have ever seen!! Its in a hunter green and its a hacamore. So Pretty i will have to get pictures
