Depressed : not for the faint at heart

Please look for the meaning within this story. It brings up a few controversial subjects, not intended for the younger viewers. If you're not at least 13, please don't read, I can't stop you, but you need to be able to comprehend what is going on.

Lisey was a young girl about the age of 5 when everything started. She lived in an orphanage outside of New York. She was always dirty, but always happy to work and was always smiling. When she was 10 she was adopted by a family.

They looked like a wonderful family. Three children already, and they were always happy. The parents felt that another addition to the family would be wonderful, so they adopted the now 10year old Lisey, thinking she would fit into the family perfectly. It was clear though, that Lisey wasn't what they were looking for.

At the age of 16 Lisey was always depressed, she didn't want to hang out with her family or friends. She rarely ate and went out all the time, though no one knew where she went.

It soon became clear that she was drinking at parties. She would come home late at night and stagger to her room. No one knew how to help the girl, they tried groups, but she would skip them to go out drinking. They tried talking to her, but she always ran out of the room and wouldn't come back.

Not long after she started drinking, she also started smoking. She loved that everyone seemed to accept her better, but even when she wasn't around them, she couldn't quit. It grew on her, it became her sin.

At the age of 17 she no longer cared what her family thought, but what her friends thought of her. She had gotten a new boy friend, and he introduced her to the world of drug abuse. She got sucked in, and couldn't get out. Her family got more worried by the day, but didn't know how to help her.

As Lisey became more into the drugs and alcohol, she didn't care what happened to her body. She soon is pregnant, but she doesn't know when it happened, or who she was with. Her life is falling apart.

User Image

The tears rolls down her cheeks as the blood runs down her arms. She doesn't understand what is going on in her life. She doesn't understand that she is still loved.

As the days roll on, she falls deeper into a depression. She hung up in her room most of the time, and rarely ate anything, she was starving herself to death, but one day she seemed better. One day, everything seemed alright. She was happy again, she was constantly smiling, and that was because.....

....she planned her death. Lisey died at age 17, she felt alone and forgotten. If only her parents had talked with her sooner, she may still be with us. Lisey will soon drift from our memories, and become just another statistic.

I wrote this story because these issues have been on my mind a lot lately. I have friends and family members that have committed suicide, are alcoholics, smoke, or do drugs. Trust me it's not the life to live, I've seen what it does to people, the ones that have died, and the ones left behind.

I want to hear your thoughts on these issues.

some people actually live like this, it's frustrating for the people around them that don't know how to help.
