Part of what I have been researching is awakenings. Their are many kind of awakenings, or transformations of hte mind/mind and body, in religeons philosophical veuws and such. Buddhism states that suffering comes from losing things you are attatched to, and wanting things you don't have so they believe if you can transform your mind to not want, not think, not desire, and controll your thoughts, and emmotions entirely, then you will have reached enlightemnent, and can focus all of your mind onto reflection on the universe.
Many religeons have a kidn of salvation ritual, or process that transforms the soul, and in most cases is supposed to send you to heaven or hell.
Many people who have mindsets similar to the full metal alchemist believe that you can transform yourself, and change yourself in any way as long as you put enough effort into it, argo the rule of alchemy(to gain somthign, you always have to sacrafice somthign of equal value).
Many people believe you can train your mind to think faster, have better cognitive skills, and many other things through practice, training, and effort.
In the matrix if you let go of all your concepts, ideas, and beliefs and only see what is infront of you, you could decide what is real, what is not real, and break free from the world.
I wanted to share these with you, and maby discuss about them. Maby you can post your own transformations you have invented or researched about.

on thing that i want to note now, not to limit people but to note. often times effort or should i say too much effort can hinder your progress. there is something that i have read about called the law of resistance, that more or less means the harder you push the harder the resistance is against you. many people struggle thier whole lives and wonder why when they try so hard they often fail, this COULD be one reason. as you mentioned buddhism i will also add that one step of the Eight-Fold path, the path of release from suffering, is Right-effort. this is something that i cannot well describe because i too struggle with life at times. but keep in mind that a middle path, in my opinion, is best. put effort into life, to do right, to transform, but do not try too little nor too hard. Let go of your assumptions, your judgments. if you think you know what the world is do you think you will ever see it as it is? we cannot know fully all of the facts of existence, but we can experience it. dont let your mind get in the way, dont let your desires or fears, or assumptions get in the way of your vision. that is as you have said how we could see what is real.

I disagree. The more you push against an object physically the more resistance you get, and it is true that you can more easily fail the harder you work physically, but a properly trained mind will never fail. It might make wrong dicisions, misjudge somthing, or make an improper calculation, but it will never fall down and break like a real object can.
Also I just didn't think it was very important that I post the eightfold path, or the dhamapada.
I just use all of these examples to prove to myself that I can transform my mind in different ways with enough training.

there is no need to post the whole of Buddhist texts i was just making an example. and i have nothing against training it is perhaps the only way to learn.
my point was that sometimes when you are fighting against something you are giving it more power instead of overcoming it.

I totally agree, its just with your body you are fighting over the three laws of movement, lack of oxygen, and lack of energy. With mind all you have to fight against is lack of energy, denial, impatence, and fear. SOmone reaching enligtenment might grow impatent. Somone who was being taught how to increase their thought speed might grow impatent and use denial to beleive that it can't be done. Or some people might just fear change, or get tired.
But what I mean is their are a ton of ways to transform your mind, I want to learn about them.

If you are contemplating an issue, whatever it may be; scientific, moral, or logical, it's possible to brood over it so much that you hit walls, or get into loops. I think an over pushed mind can suffer just as an over worked body would.

Awakenings.. hmm... an interesting concept.
I think that an awakening is an exculsively personal experience. This is one reason why I don't agree with religion. Many of us have those moments of revalation. Where after certain events, or lack of events, or whenever, your mind is clear and a new way at reach. It's very hard to explain this in a general sense.. because it's anything but general. I guess I can say.. those moments that you and your life are changed and grown. The feeling of mental growth. There are some revolutionary ones, that change your outlook or lifestyle, and those that change your ideas and habbits. There's no scale though. They're all equally essential.
So, like I said, I don't agree with "a way" to Enlightenment. There is no book that could possibly lead you to personal salvation. Now, don't get me wrong, you can learn from every one of them, take their wisdoms into your life and make them part of you, but they are not THE answer. Your life and experience and self is the answer, the way, for you.
But that vague concept of Awakening.. it's quite beautiful and mysterious, which every one of us understands very well but can't explain clearly through words. It is an essential part of our lives. (this is a great subject)

on the topic of awakening, i once had the sensation or intuition that there was something else, some other life that i was living, it was very vague the kind of feeling you get when in a dream but this was in waking hours, the feeling that if i were to wake up i would be a different person living a different life in a different world, perhaps very unlike any i already know. it is hard to describe but was profound, and since all i have are memories of it.

Wow... intense. That is quite interesting.. I've never heard of someone actually having that feeling, although it is something often imagined. Maybe.. (this is just an intuitive guess) it came from some part of you that wants to tap into another side of your life. Like.. maybe you have a desire to go somewhere completely new and have a new chapter in your life that is different from the one your in now. Or maybe you want more from yourself, and your not fullfilling your own expectations.. I hope that is not entirely false. I'm just trying to make sense of it. I could only imagine how that would feel.. it's intriguing.

All is one and one is all(from full metal alchemist). The world is the all and I am the one. I am a small part. I can change the world but not it's rules. I can use it's rules to my advantage. If I work I'll get stronger. IF I study I will be smarter. If I am kind then a small part of hte world will be kind to me. If I sow then I will reap. If I give then I will recieve. If I want to gain somthing I must sacrafice somthing. To transform myself i must work for it. If I want to think faster I have to use up energy to concentrate. If I want to change my personality I have to concentrat on changing my attitude, concepts, beliefs, and views. IF I want to make myself stronger I have to work out.
Work for what you want.

I've personally had a mental trnasforation: When I was in 6th grade, all these things in the world started to get to me, I undestood the world in ways that shocked my teachers and baffeled my classmates. And things I saw in new light scared me. So I took myself mentally and pulled myself back and little too far. I was always really quiet after that and now I'm a seionr in hihschool and I act like a freshman sometimes. I've seen other people go through the same kind of thing. But unlike me, they were not afraid and they did not shrink back from hr transformation, they embraced it and even if they area vrazy today, they see what I saw back then. I'm just now caching back up with them.
