While I was reading I couldn't help but think that some of the characters were acting in ways that weren't normal for them.
Jacob, for instance, was an extreme jerk from the begining to the middle. And no matter how much u may not like him, he would never act like that. And as much as he loves Bella, I don't think he'd just throw Bella to Edward like he did at the end. He acted kinda bipolar.
And Bella was kind of a jerk to Edward, which is a complete turnaround from her usual self. She put up a lot of attitude with him about pretty everything. Compare it to the first 2 books, where she was undeniably, head over heals in love and would do anything he said, the change is wierd. confused
Feel free to debate it if u see things differently, I'm just wondering if anyone else thought likewise?

I'm only on page 200-something, but
Jacob and Edward seem different to me.
It might just be that I haven't read the
other two books in a while, but I seem to be liking Jacob more than Edward in this book.

OMG! Im only up to page 2oo. Edward was kinda acting sexual at one point! definetly out of character!
but Jacob! when did he become such a hard-a**.
Bella's done with rules and waiting. I would be too. I kinda feel the same [same situation...but unfortunately...normal guys sad ]
Charlies.just afraid of losing Bella
Rosalie cares!!! she's just being tough about things!
omg! IM SOO AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I LOVE THE BOOK!

yeah, now that you mention it they were a bit out of character but I think that she was breaking them out of character for a reason, they've all had time to grow, they've all been hurt etc.... I mean that HAS to change them in some way and Bella's torn apart... but I dont want to say anything else for those who haven't finished Eclipse yet... (I finished last night xd )

yeah, i understand that they r growing and all.. but Jacob turned, like, bipolar. And I don't think that he would be such a jerk to Bella as he does in the book.
I can't really make a good judgement with Edward because we don't know a lot about him from the first 2 books. In the first book he had his secret for half of it and they were seperated for a fourth of it so there wasn't much getting to know him. In the second book he was gone for most of, you pretty much only learn a little about him in the end. But all in all, he definetly was closest to staying on point. He has all of his internal battles going on about rite and wrong so u can't really expect one solid personality.
But I am very upset about Bella in this book. I have actually grown to dislike her. In Eclipse she is smashing Edward's feelings to the ground. SPOILER COMING UP!!! like with the jewlery. obviously it was a big deal for him and she just acted like it was another nusense. And even if she doesn't want to get married she was sure being a jerk to him about it. END SPOILER
And final complaint xD Anyone notice that Charlie is turning into a worse and worse parent as the series gos on? xD

too be honest i found jake to be much more of a jerk @ middle/end of New Moon. i actually very much enjoyed him in eclipse.
edward...i was VERY angry with him in new moon but he redeemed himself in eclipse. nuff said
bella..bella...whirls things out of context all the time...so she pretty much stayed the same to me.
i found jasper more out of character but thats mostly an illusion becuase for the most part he's only had speaking parts in Twilight so to find him as a major character in eclipse was sorta weird..
rosalie was nice. i felt bad for her...
alice was alice.
and poor charlie...he's so dim in somethings but you cant help but find him funny .
and everyone else pretty much stayed the same..

I think Bella changed a little w/ the whole sex thing w/ Edward
but then in the end she wanted 2 be responsible so I think she has grown a lot since Twilight
Jacob well I think as alwasy he was tryn 2 win Bellas heart I laughed so hard cuz Bella tried punching him and she ended up breaking her hand and also she is not really the violent type if u read Twilight carefully wink
Edward I dont feel he has changed well except he let Bella see Jacob that was a change 3nodding
Alica same old
Rosalie I felt sorry 4 her
Jasper his story was interesting 3nodding
Charlie cracked me up when he tried having sex talk w/ Bella lol rofl

Whenever Jacob appeared a few times, I felt like I was reading a bad fanfic burning_eyes He was the character-change that concerned (and shocked) me the most.
Bella: She seemed to cry a lot more than usual. That's what stuck out the most for me.
Edward: Meh, he was pretty much the same.
Rosalie: She changed, but it was an in-character change. Like New Moon led up to that with the "Vote" chapter. You could tell she was bound to warm up to Bella.
Emmett: ... eek Emmett didn't get much airtime, did he?! But he didn't change much either.
Jasper: Same.
Alice: Same. But she didn't strike me as that much of a motormouth in the last two novels.
Carlisle: Same as Emmett.
Esme: Tch. Esme never gets much airtime, so it's hard to even say whether or not she's "in character" since we don't really know her character.
Charlie: Well, err. He made me laugh a heck of a lot more in this one, that's for sure.

to me who was ooc was edward, in the first two book he was biplore one min he was happy the next sad ect. and now at the end he was just calm and nice to almost EVERYONE!!!!!! scream that got me really angery

Too me, Eclipse was the funniest out of the three out so far! Everyone was so hardcore it was wonderful.
Jake really did crack me up. He was so smug about everything where-as in Twilight, he was a sweety. I think it was the wolf in him though. Very sexy. ^_^

Edward changed cause he began to love Bella more and more, Bella was just anxious to be with him, Rosalia was just maturing and warming up. Jacob he changed after being a were wolve. Alice was the most changed to me, she was like a oldie mother like figure I thought, then she wa a outgoing kinda girl in Eclipse come on people, when does Alice were a pink tanktop with bright red leather pants.
