So I'm looking at Rakuen Fashion`s outfits with a grain of salt firmly clenched between my teeth. Some of their outfits are adorable, and I'm considering one of their skirt-blouse combinations carefully. It's the same price on eBay than their website, which is also a plus, though a different color and blahblahblah. Whatever.

I was wondering if anyone had any reviews of them off hand, or had heard anything about the quality of their products versus the photos that they use. Are those their photos? Does the quality match that well when you receive the item?

So far, no one has found me a review and it looks like EGL's memories page isn't working for beans.
Thanks for any help in advance.

I think their quality isnt bad but its not that great. They have lots of icky cheap lace. I dont own anything from them but I have seen some owner pictures :/

Most of the reviews I found [finally found] have only made comment on their overuse of polyester faux-satin ribbon. The item I'm looking at doesn't have much of that, but I'm not sure about the lace.

It doesn't list a fiber content for it, so I guess I'll have to message them about it?
Do you know if the workmanship is at least any good?

I bought one of their jumperskirts at Otakon, and while it's nice enough, it does have too many ribbons on it. *plans to cut some of them off* The lace is polyester, as is the ribbon, but it doesn't look awful. It's not a scratchy or hard lace, it's soft and has a slight sheen to it, I suppose. Their blouse/skirt coordinates are really cute in person, and they do use their own photos, which look exactly like the clothes. As for the cotton material they use, it's nice, not threadbare. I don't own a blouse from them, though, so it's a little tough to tell about that. They had a blouse on a black hanging dressform at the convention, and you couldn't see through the material, so I would guess that it's about the same thickness as the material they use for skirts. I didn't like the lace they used on some things. On one jumperskirt, there was some very wide lace, and it just reminded me of underwear lace. ): Which coordinate did you have your eye on, if I may ask?

If you want, I'll take some photos of what I bought for lace quality, etc.

OH, and if you do get something with ribbons on it, they don't cauterize the ends, so they fray, but it's easily remedied with a candle.

I've been looking at a white blouse and pink skirt sale that they have. It comes with the headdress [which is rather a monster of a thing] and a petticoat. I've also been looking into Anna House, which has better reviews [really nice lace, very professional workmanship, etc.] and is cheaper in the long run, but ships from Hong Kong. o_o;

I've been thinking about ordering from them, too, ever since I saw a review of them from a girl on EGL. I hear their petticoats aren't any good, but the lace, craftsmanship, and prices are good. Do you know if they ship EMS or Airmail? The shipping cost seems awfully high to me-- about $30 for a dress.

Rakuen's petticoats, though they look sort of weird, are decent. They aren't as good as In The Starlight's, but they're substantial if layered with another petticoat. (I'm actually wearing it now, with two others. x3 I buy a lot of them, but with limited success, so I just pile them all up at once.)

The headdresses are monsters, I agree. I will never wear the one they gave me with my jumperskirt. ^-^; It's just.... too much. The lace is too gathered and wide and scallopy. It makes it look untidy, in my opinion.

I'll post some pictures once I get back from grocery shopping tonight. ^^

I know that Anna House ships airmail, actually. That's why it's so costly--it gets there pretty fast. Also, they do the pile-on ordering style for shipping, so it's not so costly if you're ordering a lot all at once.

Shipping for two blouses, a dress, a petticoat and bloomers is about 45USD; after the 4% for PayPal, that's about 200USD. Dunno about how bad customs would be, though. I'm hoping to dodge it if I ever order from them--I'm almost tempted to e-mail and ask if they do group orders, then rally my friends to buy stuff along with me. XD

As for that auction I'm looking at, I'm still pondering the things I've heard so far and wondering if it would be worth it in the end.

With Rakuen, it's either good design + bad lace, or bad design+okay lace.

That's exactly what my sister and I want to do when we order from there. We figured if you spend over 400usd then shipping won't go above 77usd. you only need a few people to go in with you.

Well that kinda sucks. =/
I wish they could get it to at least good design and okay lace together.
