Hi all. It's been a while since I visited this guild. Long story short... I am writing a paper on Dani Karavan, the artist. It's a very simple paper- just a basic description of his biography, his art, and his contribution to Israeli culture. He seems really intesting and accomplished so far.

I was wondering if people could help me out with translating a few terms?

Court of Justice? Beit-din tzedek?

Also, if anyone fluent is willing to possible go over the paper- nothing in depth, just take a quick glance for glaring spelling and grammar problems- that would be very much appreciated. Heck, I'd pay you in Gaian gold, if you wanted.

Also, if any one wants to share opinions on his artwork... Maybe you've seen his installation peices and had a certain reaction, or maybe you have a comment on his impact on Israeli art? Any comments at all! They'll likely be included in the paper.

Thanks in advance! I'll be back with more terms if anyone's willing to help...

Thanks!

...Wait, I'm confused... if Beit Mishpat is Court of Justice, what is badatz?

I'm trying to talk about art in the High Court of Justice in Tel Aviv, but I don't know what the proper term is. ^_^;;

look, you have badatz and bagatz.

badatz = בד"צ
bagatz = בג"צ

The first one... is a little difficult to explain... ^^" help, someone?
The second one is shortening of "בית המשפט הגבוה לצדק" and its one of the duties of the court of justice.

I'm not sure, but i think that u need to write "בית המשפט העליון" if i understand correct...

and i can read your paper if u want wink

O.k....
Let me make some clearness in all the mass you've heard so far !!!

In isreal you got two faces to the court of justice !

no. 1 - Bagaz - בג"ץ
Bagaz means "Suprme court of justice" , in isreal you got 4 level's to
the court of justice . the first is the small prosecutions court , the second
is the county court , the third is the high court , and the last it the suprme
court of justice !!! Meaning he deals with the prosecutions that are of a
great significance to the public ! prosecutions that deal with high offenders
of the law , political law breakers , and the suprme court even has a right
to interfere with the goverments decisions in a sirten case that thouse
decisions are dening the human and civil right's of pepole in isreal .

no.2 - Badaz - בד"ץ
Badaz is the other face of the court of justice in isreal ! badaz is the
court of justice that rules by the hebrew law ! (meaning laws that have
been astablished by rabai's (Jewish religon leaders) and are based on
what the bible says should be the jewish way of life ! this court those
not have an officel authority to punish thouse who "break" the law !
Becose the jewish law is not the law in isreal !!! But that court is the
court that rules how religios pepole should leave in isreal ! and in an
agrrement that was formed in 1948 that court got a sirten power to
rule in a few cases that involev relgion in isreal ! For instence , in isreal
civil merrige are not allowed ! you have to be marrid under a sirten
religion , if you are jewish you have to be marrid under the jewish
relgion ! And in order to do that you have to get the approval of badaz !

I hope I've been super clear and helped you understand what you need .

By the way you havn't gotten back to me about that paper you sent me ,
still waiting . have a good day ! Ba bye .
