Purpose: The 5th Division’s members have great spiritual power and control the most powerful kidou.

Description of Division: The 5th Division is arranged around a garden courtyard. Various wings of the building have different purposes; one is for kidou training, one is a library, another serves as a sort of kitchen/living room/relaxation area, and the last has seen many random uses, depending on the captain's whims. The offices of the Captain and Vice-Captain are on teh second story and overlook the garden area so that they can see everything that happens in the Division. Though Aizen hatched his evil plans here, they have to move on and the area shows no evidence that Aizen ever existed. The garden is a nice place to take tea or meditate.
