Do you think in sounds, pictures, or feelings? If I said, "Imagine a beach," what would be the first thing to come to mind? Would it be the feeling of the sand and salt air, the sound of the surf, or an image of a perfect shore?
I think mostly in sounds. I talk to myself in my head and find myself listening to music when nothing is playing. I use phrases such as, "That sure rings a bell." However, when I remember, I remember scents and sounds.
People think differently when remembering, constructing, imagining, and finding answers. How do you think?
If you are interested in researching the subject, Google or Wiki "Neuro-Linguistic Programming." I just read an excellent lecture on the subject.

I think in voices. Not my own, but it always sounds like someone is narrating through my life, like reading through a forum post... or hearing a narrator of a movie. Sort of like a perpetual inner-monologue...
I also think in music... Because I always have some sort of music stuck in my head...
Ok, that could be a product of my OCD, but still. I grew up like that, so that is how I think... *shrug*

Hmm, this is an interesting topic because I've always wanted to know how people think xd
Hm, I think with emotions I think. Thinking of a beach I see it, but I feel happy. You know? It's most evident when I think about numbers. Two feels stuffy and dusty and dark green, while three feels bright orange and exciting, and four feels mellow and deep red. Four isn't mellow and deep red, it feels mellow and deep red. I dunno .__. I'm having a hard time explaining it.

For me, it's more often through sounds. I find I get certain phrases stuck in my head, that I might have only heard once, but for some reason they sound wrong, so they go around my head until I can find a way to make them feel right. I think everything relates back to feeling, but my method of reaching that is usually through the medium of sound.

.:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:. I definitely remember a lot through sounds, but also through words. Like I have a large vocabulary of words I know how to use but can't pronounce because I primarily see them in books or online. But as a musician of course my musical thoughts are sound-related. I remember dates by the way they flow, which is occasionally a problem if I think something was the 11th instead of the 7th or something. I think I'm first an auditory learner/thinker and then a visual one, but my visual is NOT like shapes and colours, but definite words and linguistic ideas, or notes on a page. When I memorize music, for example, I find myself physically turning pages in my head and placing myself based on where it is on the page, but I ultimately remember musical ideas for the way they sound. It's weird. .:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:.:~*'*~:.

Now I'm curious about something. I heard that certain people see numbers and letters in certain colors. Strange thing is, they almost always see them as the same colors. What color would you give the letter A?

I think I'm both an audio and a visual learner. My thoughts are often narrated in my head, which is possibly why I write. The thing is, I don't just hear the sounds. I feel them, too. The vibrations of the frequency, and usually certain tones have colors and emotions assigned to them. Thing is, I would prefer to go deaf over being blind because I already have this grasp on sound. Weird, eh?

------------------------------------------- Mm, A is red like an apple if it's big. Dark blue if small. Though I think I just might be thinking that because all of the books when we were little used "apple" as the one word that started with A. And also, A is very much like 4.

Hm, I've never really thought about it, but I'm pretty sure I think in all ways if possible. I mean, if I'm thinking of a beach, I'll see it, I'll hear the waves crashing, and the seagulls, I'll feel the cool breeze, and Ill taste and smell the salt in the air. I usually just think pretty openly, and I'll try to make my memories as realistic as possible; if that requires all of the senses, so be it.
