First and foremost, let me say New Moon made me love Jacob beyond comprehension.
But for the other five percent of Jacob lovers out there, who else was shocked by him in Eclipse? Throughout all of Eclipse, I was confounded, going, "Umm...is this really Jacob Black?" The epilogue was the only thing that reminded me of New-Moon-Jacob. If not for the epilogue...I don't even want to think about what I'd be feeling until Breaking Dawn comes out.
In Eclipse, he certainly made me laugh a lot, but he pissed me off a lot more than...usual, I guess. His attitude was just astonishing.
So, Jacob fans, were you disappointed in him after reading Eclipse?
Did some of you do a total 180 and ran to Team Edward / Anti-Jacob?
Or did some of you grow to love him even more?
P.S. Bella seeing her future with Jacob had me in tears. Broke me heart, that did.

Ooh! Ooh! Pick me!
I do love Jacob Black.

I mean, not just the transformation, but the worry.
"Bella is with Edward, the bloodsucker. Is she safe?"
"Will Edward take care of her?"
"Will Edward treat her right?"
"Am I giving up the best thing I may ever find?"
After worries like those, which, granted, are guesses made by me, and not actual statements from the book, but still...wouldn't you turn into an a**, fighting for your love?
I'm probably making NO SENSE, but that's okay. If you understand what I've said, say "llama" or something, and I'll smile at you.
My only hope is that Jacob imprints on someone in the next book. Someone wonderful.
p.s. Bella seeing her future with Jacob made me cry too. I'm kind of disappointed she didn't pick him sometimes. I mean, okay, that's a stupid thing to say, because I really do love Edward. I just have a problem with Eternity (which is probably why I'm not really religious), but honestly, I would HATE living forever. I'm glad I'll have my turn to die, and make way for others. Bella would have been HAPPY, she would have lived life like it's meant to be, had kids, and just....been. (Such a Tuck Everlasting complex.) Granted, life would not be the same without Edward, so, yes, she's made her choice, and it's probably the right one, but gah!
Crazy shipper moment: Bella and Edward will have teh sex, and bella will get pregnant and postpone her transformation for like, another year, and Jacob will imprint upon their baby! *shudders* okay, yeah, I'm retarded.

I'm sure Jacob will imprint on someone in the next one. That'll be my only theory bet. Unless...it turns out he really did imprint upon Bella. Then I'll just be crushed all over again.
@PS: Yeah, her not choosing Jake never really got to me (because I love Bella-with-Edward as a couple and Jacob as a sole character) until the scene where they say their "final" goodbye (and I say final as in final scene together in Eclipse; there's no way I'm giving up on them at least being friends, as impossible as that may seem).

This is absolutley 100% difficult(spl?) for me to say because I am soooo much like Bella! So sorry if I offend an Jacob fans or Edward fans cause I am gonna ay both pros and cons of both!!!!
I have to say in New Moon when Edward left Bella I felt he was leaving me too. And at first I was sad but then as Istarted reading the parts with Jake I grew happier. However, then I grew pissed at him(even before Jake became werewolf Jake)because leaving Bella like that left her vunerable to someone, anyone, trying to love her. At that point that was just sooooooo not acceptable, but then my anger at Edward withdrew a little with every delusion Bella had, and the whole thing with Jake ditching Bella. I mean really how long can you be mad at Edward?? But also i couldn't be mad at Jake for long either because he tried to make it up to her and he saved her from Laurent! So I grew to Like Jake.....ok so I grew to love him the same way Bella did. Then When Alice came back i was a little disappointed in both Jake and Edward. Firstly towards Jake because of his attitude toward Alice, and at Edward because it wasn't him who'd come back. At the end of the book I was in the middle of sad and mad at the Jake situtation, though I was totally happy with the Edward part.
Now in Eclipse is where I got pissed at both. first I got mad at Edward because of his stubborness in letting Bella to see Jake. Then I was really pissed at him for not telling Bella about the thing with Victoria but I was also getting ticked at Jacob at this point.
The entire thing was very infuriating like when Edward disable her truck and bribed Alice to hold her hostage so she wouldn't go see Jake. Yet then Jake had to do something stupid like showing up at the school to kidnap(i know bad choice in words)Bella.
At least edward saw reason first, though. Then Jake really pissed me off with that KISS!!!!!!! evil evil scream and making Bella break her hand!
Then the whole scene were Bella's half asleep.
..........sorry abvout that I got a little into this but all in all I think I, like Bella, knew it would always have turned out that way! But I think I really did feel like part of me, Bella, was missing. That feeling increased in the Epilogue though when he decided to stay a wolf forever. I really hope that he doesn't. Part of me wants to always wait for Bella but another part of me wants him to get on with his life and find some as special to him as Emily is to Sam.

But I can't fight with an eclipse." Iwas waiting for th word to pop up in the story but I didn't think it would be as painful as it was from Jake!
I sorta think the same about how Edward and Bella will get married without too much hell on Renee and charlie's part, have sex, and edward will change Bella. Yet I think something different will postpone the change such as Renee getting pregnant. I think Jake will imprint upon Bella's sister!! Now that would be good!!!!!

But other than that, I agree with you.
I admit, though...I laughed throughout all of chapter fifteen (where Jake kisses her). I don't know why I found everything so funny, but I couldn't stop. Then adding Charlie and Edward to the mix made me crack up even harder.
Now I see that it kind of tied in with the second kiss though, which was the complete opposite of my reaction to the first (box of tissues, anyone?).Quote: Then the whole scene were Bella's half asleep.

I was shocked but I was not really pissed at him when he kissed Bella I was shocked and when their real kiss came I was just thinking go Jake he was fighting back so I was cheering him all the way 3nodding but I like Edward better no offense I like Jacob and Edward

well i used to think of jacob as a character who just happened to be there and then after reading Eclipse i was like if i had to choose between Edward and Jacob.... *snatches jacob and runs off* in all honesty i didn't get angry Jacob. i REALLY liked him in this book

I've always liked Jacob, I still do.
I was a little suprised by his behavior, but love makes people do strange things. He was a little desperate- the girl he loved was marrying and planning to become the thing that is his natural enemy. He wanted her to see that she did love him too- which he knew already. Personally I think Jacob knows Bella better than she knows herself.
I love both Jacob and Edward.
I wasn't pissed at all at Jacob, I was actually very happy with him- but especially after Eclipse, who couldn't love Edward? It was actually Bella who got on my nerves.

Seeing Jacob fighting a losing battle just made me cry. //literally\ I screamed when I read when he stole that kiss from her!!! 4laugh finally! and then when she asked him to kiss her again, that did upset me a little when he tricked her like that well because I sorta believed him at first XD //I get to wrapped up in what I read and lose sight of things sometimes\ but in the end. . .I knew I should of stoped when Bella left Jacobs bedroom. . .I burst into tears, crying my heart out! crying I hope SOOOOOOO F'ING badly that he comes back in Breaking Dawn. . .I sware I hate that bella swan so so so so MUCH!!!! evil

Okay, I haven't read anybody else's posts after mine, but I promise I'll get to it asap.
I just wanted to post here to say after reading Eclipse twice and listening to the latest Forks-Cast, the characters in Eclipse are no longer "out of character" in my eyes. Especially Jake.

I wasn't all that suprised by how Jacob acted in Eclipse. You figure he's only been a werewolf for maybe a year and he's still adjusting, PLUS he's still in love with Bella. The moodswings and basic drama were inevitable.
I loved Jacob even more after finishing Eclipse. He showed that he's a lot more "human" than Edward by showing his emotions and proving that he's NOT perfect. He made mistakes and let his emotions get the best of him, unlike Edward who seems intent on being a perfect, over-the-top gentleman for Bella (yeah, Edward got jealous and over-protective in some parts but that's nothing new. WE NEED MORE EMOTION, CULLEN!). Compared to how unpredictable Jacob can be, Edward can seem downright boring at times.

I felt so bad for him. I'm glad he was so comfy with Bella in New Moon because she needed it bad. I felt bad for him in the epilogue because you know the story that they told in the begining is just replaying.
I kinda thought everyone was a bit out of character this book, so the way Jacob acted, I wasn't that shocked.

I cried and cried and cried...And I practically destroyed my room I love Jacob so much...Way better than edward...I hope that something happens where Bella and Jacob are together
