I was recently banned from a guild for not being on frequently. Has that happened to any other members of this guild with other guilds? I understand that they want member participation, but I think the "blog or leave" approach is counterproductive. Keeping a guild's doors open seems like a better policy, no?

Just a quick rant razz

If this guild followed the same practice then their would be a total of like five members.

I like how you can come and go here. I've been kicked out of other guilds for the same thing

Yeah, I've been kicked out of quite a few guilds that way. Which is why i just left most of them, but recently got kicked out of one again. Oh well.

Yes, I was banned from a guild for not participating enough. Maybe even from two...anyway, I understand that they want active members, but from now on I make sure to read all the rules, and if it says anything about being kicked out if you don't participate, I don't even bother joining ^_^

I was banned from a few guilds because of that, but I was inactive because no one was talking. I tried to be active, but you know how it goes.

That's never happened to me. I'm surprised that some guilds do that

I don't belong to many guilds, 3 to be exact. but all of them don't seem to have a problem with that.
I'm sure I would be kicked out of most that require active participation, as there are months that I don't log into Gaia at all.

One of the guilds I'm in made a new guild and the active members only saw the announcement to join the new guild to filter out the inactive members.

Speaking of which... I know I haven't been active in a while sweatdrop

It's happened to me quite a few times, even when I've told the mods of the guild that I'd be away for a while. gonk

Yeah. But it was one of those that I'd stopped caring about, really. ^^;

I saw the title and panicked. People aren't supposed to get banninated from this guild. It's SUPPOSED to be a safe haven for college students and older Gaians; they don't have to use it all the time, though.

Then I realized you were talking about a different guild. I'm spazzing out... @_@

Hmmm... Well I see the point of it. You wouldn't want you guild to become inactive altogether. I am not sure if that is the best answer though. I have no experience of this. I think Possibly a better reaction will be a quick e-mail from a moderator (one who was chosen to do that) that simply asks if you intend on staying in the Guild or not. I do think it is a little pointless to be part of a guild if you never write in it.

yeah, that has happened to me, and I was slightly perturbed, but the people in charge of a guild get to make that call, and running a guild is hard work, so I just tried not to take it personally...

I was just kicked out of the Vending Guild for that very reason today.. The message was funny because i only joined the guild due to the many invites i received if i did a bit of vending! I wasn;t disappointed at all, just slightly amused. razz

I don't understand why guilds feel they need to get rid of members. Some people don't have the time to be posting frequently in guilds or they guild hop... Older people like us often don't have the time due to other commitments.. sweatdrop
