 Yawning in a bored fashion, Hatsuharu eyed the reflection before him. One advantage of still water was that you could see into your own eyes if you were so inclined; lacking that inclination, you could do it anyway. Haru was used to the reflection; after all, he saw it in this pond on a regular basis. That's what you got when you had a routine, after all.
And he had a routine. He ought to, he lived here. HIS evergreen circle, as it were; his pond, his path...
Yup. His. Constantly.

He'd gotten bored that morning with whatever it was he'd been wandering and though he'd take to the air for a bit. As it heated up being that much closer to the sun wasn't helping and he'd decided he wanted a drink and some shade.
Shade didn't seem to be in his future but water could be. He could see a small pond down there somewhere and ..
and company!
Whoever it was would notice him before he landed and that was just fine with him. It meant he didn't have to sneak up on anyone accidently.

Considering his relative disinterest in his reflection, it made perfect sense for Haru to show greater interest in the new arrival. In fact, it would make a LOT of sense.
However, just because he wasn't interested in himself didn't mean that he was anymore interested in someone else. Catching a glimpse of the other Soquili's reflection in the water, Haru merely raised a brow, watching the reflection for a few moments before finally looking up. Another Soquili...that was something he didn't see every day.

He made sure that he landed nicely across the pond from the other soquili just in case he stirred up some dust. It wouldn't be nice at all to kick dust up in the face of someone he hadn't even greeted yet. Shaking himself off and flicking a bit of air out of his feathers he saluted with one and grinned at the stranger.
"Hey! Sorry i just dropped in but the water looked really nice. Can i have some?"

Wings were slightly out of the ordinary to Haru, but not exactly something he hadn't seen before. Consequently, he was hardly enthralled as he watched the stranger alight on the opposite side of the pond. A stranger itself was more of a novelty than wings, not that he was in any particular need of companionship or even particularly WANTING any companionship...but the fact remained that it was still rare.
Though this newcomer was something else, at least if his last question was to be believed. Lifting his head a bit higher, Haru eyed the other stallion for a moment, flicking an ear pierced and bearing multiple silver studs. When he finally DID speak, the voice was calm, level...even monotonous.
"Why would you need my permission to drink from a pond? It's a free landscape, don't you think? Just because I'm standing here doesn't mean I have any right to deny people the use of this pond, any more than you do."
What a strange stallion, asking permission.

He frowned slightly as he shook out his wings and tucked them against his side. "If you lived here and this was in your home then yea you do. I mean it's nice to ask someone if you can use their stuff."
Hadn't anyone ever told the pierced stallion that? He'd learned it when he was little. You always asked permission before you just took things that someone else might be using.
Taking the few steps forward he dipped his nose into the water to drink. Once that was done he used his wings, dipping the feathers into the pond, and splashed the cool stuff all over him. Definatly a up side to the day.
"Names Nall, what's yours?"

In response to the other stallion's words Hatsuharu simply eyed him. Did the other stallion automatically assume that seeing someone somewhere meant that they lived there? That was bound to get complicated eventually, especially if someone who DIDN'T live somewhere claimed these so-called perks.
Or did the feathered one actually know that Haru lived here? If so, that was more than a little peculiar, as he would likely have had to observe for a bit to get this impression, and Haru didn't particularly like the idea of being spied on. Not that he'd felt like he was being spied on in the recent past or anything (thus disinclining him to think that he HAD been spied on), it was still a strange idea.
Though none of that was worth getting excited about.
As the other stallion lowered his head to drink, Haru did the same, the action causing the handful of necklaces he wore to clink against each other softly. For a bit, that was the only sound from his side of the water, even after Nall introduced himself. Instead of replying, Haru simply looked up again, eyeing the other stallion with the same calm and mild demeanor before shrugging. "Haru."

"Not very talkative huh?" That was kinda obvious and he doubted the other stallion would even answer him. Which was perfectly alright since he knew the answer. It just meant that it was more unlikely that Haru would tell him to shut up if he kept talking.
"It's nice around here good place to live i bet. Fresh grass and water and plenty of room to do whatever in."
