If you use an X-Fi sound card and you play WoW, you are NOT getting all of the channels that you should be getting. Trust me, I decided to do a google search of "Sound Channels WoW" and I came across this: http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=games&message.id=1008

Here's the fix: Go to My Computer, select your hard drive that has WoW installed in it, click program files, click World of Warcraft, click on the WTF folder, then click on Config.wtf and add this:

SET SoundOutputSystem "1"

Now start up WoW and choose your character:

If you have not already set the sound options, here are the directions.

press escape and go to sound options and set the the options to enable Hardware Acceleration and push the Sound Channels slider all the way to the right.

If you have already set your options, then enjoy all 128 channels of sound ( while still using Hardware Acceleration) for the first time in WoW.

For me it sounded amazing, I heard things in the music that I never heard before in the Tauren area. It seemed almost a waste to me that they used an entire orchestra and you can't even hear all of it without this card and this tweak.
