heart  heart i love it when mustang gets called useless. he is so0o lame. who's more useless? Ed or Roy ROY!!!!

Yea mustang is annoying, but so this topic doesn't get out of hand I say Ed is very usefull Mustang is pretty much a jerk , he's just an extra character in fma, the only time he's really helpfull is in the movie.

WHAT??? I personally dont like mustang very much but he is a main charicter!! It shows more in the manga. He IS helpful.

roy is a very helpful character
i agree that he can b a jerk sumtimes but the only time that he was every useless was wen he was in the rain

Ha...I play Roy in a guild I'm in.... blaugh
Anyways, I agree he's more important in the manga.
But if you really think about it Roy's almost always there when Ed needs him.
He can be a jerk, but then again so can anyone else in FMA. Well, except Al...but that's because he's Al...

Roy's a deeper character than you guys give him credit for. I feel obliged to say that as a Roy Mustang fangirl. whee
Sure, he can be useless in a few situation (with humorous results), but no one can win 'em all. Just think back to when Ed had given up and was going to let Scar 'splode all of his brains out in episode 16 (I think) and Marcoh had to save him; I think he was pretty useless then.
Plus, when compared to characters like Archer or Hakuro or the sorts, is Mustang really that much of a jerk? I'm not trying to say that he doesn't act obnoxious at times but that's just part of his personality and he acts that way for a reason; if it's to Ed he usually has his best interests at heart. 3nodding
And Mustang has one thing that Ed will never have: A harem Power. He was the one to first get Ed into the military, Full Metal Alchemist would never have been how it is now without him in both manga and anime.

Ed is more useful in my opinion (he's my fave character anyways xP)
But i do like Roy, sure he can be a jerk, but he is (occasionally) useful, and help them out! Besides, even Edo-kun can be a jerk xD

He's not really useless, and he provides humor to the FMA. Sure Ed thinks he's useless but Ed's Ed. Ok everyone on the show thinks he's useless but he's good for some things. Sure he needs a good beating every now and then but so does Ed twisted

I don't think Mustang's useless, lazy and thoughtless and foolheaded, but not lazy. I think he's just got too much time on his hands because once the series starts to come to a close he starts to act his age more, and take on some responiblity. But other times Let's just say Mustang seriously needs a hobby. rofl
