The Kingdom Keeper

PostPosted: Wed Aug 15, 2007 7:15 pm

I just finished reading the end...
I did it in twelve hours...
I couldn't put the book down...
I almost refused food...
It was amazing...
It happened to him, and yet it didn't...
It's over... isn't it?
It was... so sad...
Yet... so happy...
I'm gonna miss Harry...

stare Are you kidding? I really didn't like the ending of the last book. (SPOILER) I mean, come on, I understand the significance, but who in their right mind would name their kid Albus Severus Potter? And he named the other two after his parents. We don't know if he ever became what he wanted to persue as a carreer (he said in 'The Half Blood Prince'). And get this, I heard (it's a rumor, but it's a possibility) that she's going to make a sequel to the epilouge.

Sorry, but I really think she could've done better. The ending fight should've been drawn out, instead of Voldemort, in a means, killing himself. stare And poor Fred!! crying Not like I'm in love with him or anything, but that was just sad.

The Kingdom Keeper
I just read the 7th in under 12 hours without stopping.
I'm on a book high.
When I read a book I like, I become a part of it.
My mom literally has to wrench the book from me to bring me back to reality sometimes...
I couldn't lay the book down.
I'm sad that all of them died, and I know that some have posted that Harry has grown too dark. Well your wrong.
The books may have changed, but the evolution of the story was seemless, suspenseful, and engulfing.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
Those deaths helped progress the story and allow Harry to become who he needed to be in order to reach his ultimate goal.
So BOO to all you naysayers!!!

There.

Thankyou! It turned from an intriguing beginners book, to a true adventure novel! It can't truly be a novel unless it brings in the aspect of tragedy and the heroe's srtuggle to overcome it!

"Enters thread accompanied by a stormy cloud of gloom"

Meh, I liked the book in some ways, but in other ways it was a dissapointment.

Some things where just so predictable. The fact that Snape was good, and that Harry was a Horcrux was obvious.

I guess its a matter of opinion, but what I liked about the earlier books is that it was lighter, there where carefree moments among the darker ones. I realize that the point was that the books get darker as they go along, but it seemed to be "gloom" "dark" "despair" and "Horror" without any rest. Known of the carefree snipits that made the earlier books so charming. J.K. Rowlings a competent childrens book writer, but I feel she got ahead of herself and her writing ability's when she started making them so much darker and in a way that appealed more to an older (read:teenage) audience.

while I enjoyed reading about the darker side of Dumbeldore's past, It felt like the Hallows where just kind of thrown in there without any former preperation as a convienent plot devise.

Also, what kind of evil Overlord thinks that a room with hundreds of other artifacts in it won't be found?

What I really didn't like was the epilogue, it was to much like J.K Rowling had a fanfiction writer write it for her, and then tacked it on the end of the book.

Gryphex: I agree with your,

Why Fred, Why did you hafta kill him Miss Rowling!!! cry cry crying crying crying gonk gonk gonk gonk scream scream scream *

sentiment. Also, she (Rowling) could have at least said something about George and how he dealt with Fred's death. I mean they where inseperable

And what was up with killing the Colin Creevey kid there was no emotion in the book about his death,, it was just like "oh by the way, you know that short kid that worshiped Harry, yeah, he died".

*My apologize for the eccesive use of emoticons, its just I felt that it was the best way of expressing my immense displeasure at his death.

I really liked the book!! I just wish she didn't kill off Fred... crying

And like Jills pet fish said, how did George take Fred's death? Was George ever the same, did he continue the joke shop?

I liked the epilouge though!!!!! But why on earth did Hermione and Ron name their son Hugo????? Why not go with the whole name the kids after dead people trend and name him Fred???? That would've been a much better name than...Hugo *shudders*

But that's all of my complains LOVED IT!!!!!!!!

I think it was a mistake to make dumbledorf gay. What's the point? The books are over, she didn't need to announce that last week. evil
