Yesterday, I put in retainers for my snakebites because I was getting a new picture taken for my license.
I never bothered to change them until later but then I went out and came back home tired. I managed to change one but it took forever and just left the other one.
Now, I just took the retainer out but I couldn't find the o-ring anywhere! I had some trouble taking the retainer out, so I figured the o-ring was still on so I looked and still nothing. Do you think it came off while I was sleeping and swallowed it or something? But I ate breakfast and brushed my teeth and everything and the retainer never fell out. With some difficulty I managed to put my original back in. Do you think the o-ring is in my actual hole or embedded in my skin or something? Or would that not work since I could get my other stud back in.

Should I go and get it checked out? I really don't want it to get infected.
