If I am not mistaken, that weapon was entirely custom-made, to counter Iscariot's Alexander Anderson -and since Alucard had requested something bigger anyway-
Though I guess it has some similarities to the Cassul, with the firing/loading mechanism -I am no gun expert- and such. Other than that it was a whole custom fit sort of deal. A hand-held cannon too heavy and powerful for any ordinary human to handle.

I don't know this one for sure, but wasn't his gun named after a criminal in a movie? (Like I said, I don't know for sure)

Well, I thought that they were totally fictional but it doesn't mean that the gun couldn't have been based on another...I'm not a whiz on guns although I should work on it eheh... sweatdrop Also that would explain why the Jackal's spirit always randomly ends every sentence with "Willis" lol

the jackal seems to be based loosely on several real guns. one would almost seem to be the a heavily customized model of the Colt 1911, which is also loosely credited as the basis for the Casull, which is not actually NAMED the Casull, but is called such by fans because of the name of the ammo used that is written on the side of the barrell.
essentially, it HAS no "real world" source except that it is loosely designed to look like a semi-realistic, very large badass gun. The only similar real gun i've ever found was on a custom site that had a build that someone had added almost two inches to the length and upped the thickness trying to make a usable version of the jackal.
needless to say, even scaled down, the thing was nearly unmanagable, and the owner now simply keeps it as a display piece.

joe-pitt also seras' gun the harkonnen is of course baron harkonnen from dune, ew floating pedarist *shudders* oi, Baron Harkonnen is awesome! have you seen the newer miniseries version of Dune? Shakesperian asides, an addiction to pretty boys, and the grandiose ego of a man so secure in his right to power that he's willing to slaughter half the planet to ensure his dominance.
Hmmm, come to think of it, Herr Fatass seems to share a lot of Vladimir Harkonnen's personality traits, even to his "weight issues" and his penchant for young cute things that can kill you hanging about at his side.
I can certainly see Major declaring dramatically over the battlefield to the remains of hellsing a paraphrasing of dear Vladimir's "and they shall know now that I am the instrument of their demise!" speech, complete with maniacal laughter and a lovely background of the flaming ruins of london.

well the idea was based on a real life gun, and it shares a strong similarity with it also.

well i guess no one wants to try or doesn't know. the gun was based on the AMT AutoMag V. the AutoMag V fires a 12.7 mm round. the magazine holds 7 rounds. and like the jackal, it is an autoloader. although the gun was made larger and heaver then the real thing, as the real thing is not as impressive.

HypnoxTheDarkKnight well i guess no one wants to try or doesn't know. the gun was based on the AMT AutoMag V. the AutoMag V fires a 12.7 mm round. the magazine holds 7 rounds. and like the jackal, it is an autoloader. although the gun was made larger and heaver then the real thing, as the real thing is not as impressive. i beg to differ, seeing as the jackal looks nothing like that in shape, form, or function.
The Jackal is supposedly loosely based on the colt 1911 frame with the back end of the infamous desert eagle and is otherwise completely custom and has very little basis in reality, as admitted by hirano in an interview where he stated he just "wanted really massive 'dirty harry' kind of guns that looked like no human could ever wield it"
and the jackal has a 6 round magazine at 13mm. the Jackal customed pistol based on the colt design according to the manufacturer's site. HypnoxTheDarkKnight Monkeyinafryingpan That is really cool, how did you know that? the information was released at a con i went to. and was written in a magazine. which i can't find the article to say which magazine. Tell me which con and who told you, or find me the article and i'll believe you, until then, that's merely your own personal theory same as the rest.
