Eh... Yuuji is a normal, pretty relaxed-kind-of-guy high school student... That finds out he's dead and has been dead for a while after running into a few monsters and a girl with blazing eyes and hair. After said incedent he learns he is a repalcement for a dead him, to coushin then impact of the loss of his existance from the world, after having much of it consumed by the types of monster he had just seen... However, he was special a "mistes" as they say. Meaning, he was somehting like a walking trause chest and such monsters would constantly be after him. SO his story begins with a small girl looking no older than 11 or 12... that he is already dead.
Okay... so that was a really bad explenation, but lets just say that this is also getting a second season, Yuuji = Saito, Shana = Louise, Kazumi = Henrietta, and Shan is generally more popular than Lise in polls.
Not to mention that Shana made it into the Semi-finals oe Saimoe 2006. Meaning she was voted as one of the four most moe characters last year. And Shana only lost to Suiseiseki by 42 votes, who only beat Fate by 62 votes in the final match.

the first volume of the manga came out like last month if you wanna check it out. there are a couple differences though. i think the best to watch/read them in goes from the novel-anime-manga.

Yeah, the novel easily tops the anime and manga, not that those are bad.

Well if you're lucky you may find it at Borders/Barnes and Nobles or something. I mean, I just check every time I go there... It took me a few months to find the first volume though. =_=
