History of Otogakure
Long ago, the land of which Otogakure is established in was called "The Land of Rice Fields" until the founder of "The Land of Sound", Orochimaru invaded and took over the country by force making it his very own and using the numerous caves throughout the land to use as his lairs and bases. All of his minions were the landsman of "The Land of Sound" and he was their Otokage, yet the other Kage's never saw him as an actual Kage (Especially had they known it was Orochimaru).
3 years later and Sasuke Uchiha killed the Otokage and left with the elite Sound Ninja's to go on a quest.
Years later the Kage's decided that the useless county of sound could be put to effective use and they appointed the first ever Official Otogkage. This person was an original descendant from "The Land of Rice Fields" and had been living in Konohagakure the whole time. After his parents escaped Otogakure from the wrath of Orochimaru. This new Kage built up the entire country and a Shinobi force as well as remaking Otogakure into a proper Hidden Ninja Village, it is believed that in the caves surrounding the country the lairs of Orochimaru still stay with some test subjects or writings intact, but that is just rumored. However the Kage's have been aware that Crime syndicates tend to hide out in the caves that are in the country, yet they're suspected to only be minor crime groups and pose no real threat.
The current Otokage is the 4th Otokage since Otogakure's establishment, this is including Orochimaru although no statues or memorials are erected to show respect to the first Otokage and the children are not taught about him.
