Just this very minute I have lost my will to write... Anyone know the cure? I myself have never been capable. My inspiration comes and goes, and for me who's writing a novel... well... it really doesn't help. >.<
Any suggestions?

The darkness within me is forcing life out It's taking my strength just to hold back my shout I feel I could scream for all hours on end My trapped empty soul makes me backwards to bend...
I can semi-write poetry when feeling uninspired, oddly enough, but I just can't write stories! *dies*

I'd like to know the cure too. I've completely lost my will to write. The worst part is I know what I want to happen to my characters. I have the path mapped out, but I just can't will myself to sit down and write it down. Argh! So frustrating! I know how you feel though, sometimes when I just really need to get into the writing mood I'll read something from an author I really admire.
P.S. I'm writing a novel too. heart

usually i immerse myself in someone else's world for a while. it helps me to watch another person's imagination work. then i'm often motivated to get back to trying to tell my own stories.

I know what you mean, and for me, it's the changing of the seasons. I usually have a Dead season, and fall is it. (I know it's summer, but for me, school is starting soon and that's when I consider fall to be fall.) I'd say tough it out, or try diving into a different hobby. I generally immerse myself in Music, or am more interested in art. Then, once this 'dead' time passes, you'll have a good urge to write. Though then again, that's just what happens with me...
Also, how has your mood been lately? Your mood affects your writing and your will to want to write. So check it out. And if you write in a Diary, I'd suggest taking a look in it, it just might let you see what has been causing you to be in your rut.

I write daily in my diary. It helps me write at least something once a day. Often I find that the best time to write (for me) is at night. Late at night - like, 1 a.m. late. *shrugs* Just stick with simple writing for now - I'd suggest writing for 10 minutes a day, even if it's just whatever comes to mind. It'll keep you from getting out of the habit writing. xp

As unlikely as it would seem, my dead season is actually summer. I update my stories and write more during the school year. Don't ask me how but it is. I would suggest reading. If you read a lot, it will inspire you to write and help you get better and out of your slump.

I found a good way to get out of it is to discribe objects in my room or actions that I am watching someone doing. It pushes me back on track and I go from there.

Hmm... when I usually have a mental block I take a break, hang out with friends, go for a walk, take a bath with candles?... You know whatever relaxes you and can give you inspiration. Lol biggrin
