I've been stared at a few times when I wear one of my decora outfits. It's rather unnerving, really. xD
So at school last year, it was lunch time, and these two girls just /stop/ right next to where we were eating lunch and just stare at me. 0o I'm pretty sure I said something like, 'oh boy, I love being stared at!' really loudly, or something to that degree. Then they started talking about how they loved my outfit, and how I should go to a rave in it.
People always say I look like a raver...>< Silly uneducated kids!
Anyway, so have you had some people stare at you? What other kinds of reactions do you get when you go full out decora?

umm.
well i don't really notice people staring at me.
but then again i don't relly dress decora that much.
but if i did, i know exactly what people would do.
they would pretend they don't notice my outfit and keep their eyes off of me.
thenn when they are with their friends,
they will gossip about me and say how my outfit is ugly and out of style. D':
i know this because i was one of them for about 3 months.
then i got new cooler friends.

I've had that happen to me too, when I was shopping with my friends. We were in Claire's, and my friend overheard these girls talking about how weird me and my other /other/ friend, who was also dressed in decora, looked.
My friend went over to them and told them to shut up. x)

Haha, you have great friends.
But I'm not confident enough to stand up to comments like that.
Urgg. I need someone to teach me not to care about what others think.

I rarely get many bad comments to my face, although I have a habit of taking bad comments in a good light. I don't really notice people staring, I'm kind of oblivious to it. Most often I get neutral comments like "Do you dress this colorful everyday" or "Why do you dress this way?" (to which I usually reply "I'm just a colorful person.")
Plus, I'm guilty of enjoying being stared at. rofl
You can't really expect people to recognise the style you wear, and the closest western style is rave or electroclash. If someone gets it mixed up, just inform them that it is 'decora'. You dont need to go and explain it, they can google it if they are curious. I'm a fan of electroclash fashion and dont really mind the mix up (although its obviously diffrent), I tend to dress that way when I'm not wearing decora anyhow...

LOL, I got so many stares at walgreens yesterday, a lady asked why Im wearing that? Lol, I like being noticed. :'O
Leah- you must be strong! D:< I mean, if you like how you dress and it makes you happy, than it doesnt matter if anyone comments.
Hey btw, we should hang out sometime n__n We could run around safeway in full out decora, that'll prolly tough'en ya up!!

In the last week of school I was wearing a pink decora outfit with green/blue accents~
There was no gym so we were hanging out in the cafeteria, and some girl passed and was like 'STAND UP D:<' to me
and I'm like 'kayy.. *stands up*'
and she was showing me to her friend. D:
hah, god. I guess when I wear it a little more often people will get used to it. : p

omg that happens to me all the time!
last year these 5raver girls in my school where in my Japaneses class, and they sent me notes talking about raves and where i get my XTC from and s**t ;_; i was like *SUPERDECORASCREAMINGRUNNNNN*

Hahaa, you girls have interesting stories to tell. I wish I had some, but I guess being stared at, heard rude comments, etc. happens a lot whenever one wears something that isn't "conservative". Reading stories like these are as familiar as stories told from lolitas, only here, it's not that bad. Gwah! I'm going to try to dress in decora this weekend. I've never done it before even though I'm IN LUUUUUUURVE with the style! I have plenty of bright clothes, so I should try to pull it off. Maybe I should wear my pikachu plush backpack too! ^_^

I haven't worn decora to school yet, just to my friend's party. And they didn't have much of a reaction, because they know I'm out of my mind. ^_~
Lolita's got me hilarious reactions at school though.
