I'm really curious, as to which one you all think is the better series.
Please be civil, I want a nice peaceful debate.

I've always liked both series, they both have their good parts and their bad, but in my opinion, Digimon is the better of the two. It has better drama, better action, better character development and a better story.
My proof for some of those claims is, in pokémon... How many times have you seen a character die, and who WASN'T brought back to life by some "Miracle" plot hole?
NEVER, it's never happened and never will.
Now, in Digimon, Just how many characters have died or been killed?
I'll give you the sort list; Wizardmon, Leomon, Chumon, Sukamon, Pixiemon, The Numemon, Whamon, not to mention every main enemy the Digidestined have faced off against.
But Digimon isn't just the deaths, it's the characters and the story, one of the reasons I loved Digimon so much was the fact that the Digidestined were UNIQUE, there wasn't a world full of people with digimon (Season 2 ending excluded) and their digimon partners were unique to them, you didn't see two people with the same digimon partner. The characters were better formed and deeper as well, the inter character relationships were better too.
Well I've babbled on long enough, simply put I like both series, but Digimon was better.

The battles were another thing that made digimon better. I always felt that the battles in Pokémon were trying to be turned based... and the more important battles (Gym battles, Battle with Mewtwo, ect...) seemed to lack the desperation that the important battles in Digimon had (Myotismon, The Dark Masters, Apoclamon, Etemon).

My post is more like a reply to Tibarus-kun's, but oh well.
Of course Digimon is the better anime series. But that is because Pokemon is based off of a videogame, hence the turn based battles.
I don't follow either anime series (I used to be a huge Digimon fan in the third grade, when they were airing the first season) but I do play the Pokemon games.
The reason no one dies is, A, because that would not be appropriate for small children; and B, because it would be a great hassle if your Pokemon died every time they ran out of energy.
And the 'bringing back to life' stuff is mainly in the movies, and movies always have to have at least one cliche.
But again, I repeat, Pokemon is based off the videogame, Pocket Monsters (Pokketo Monsutaasu-- Pokemon for short) while Digimon originated as an original idea for a TV series, not a mellow roleplaying game.

Actually.... if we go by what each series is based off of... Pokémon has the better base. Digimon was based off a key chain set... For the record...

I only saw a few episode's of Digimon. So I don't really have any proof of which one is better. But I like pokemon a lot. My sister and I were obsessed over it. I don't know why I liked it, (ok, I still like it) was because some of it was just so random. And it was something to watch that wasn't too off the deep end for me. xd

Actually, it's more like a Tomogatchi for boys; I guess Bandai/whatever the company's name is thought that the only boys that would buy the Tomogatchi would be sissy boys, or boys thinking they were girls,or gay men. xd (no offense to you gay people out there, but I think that's just hilarious)I guess they were were wrong.

Digimon has more of a storyline due to it's not-being-based-off-of-repetitive-games. But no matter what, I stick with Pokemon.
Has been original, was the first, and always will be. <3
