"I do not think of myself as a lord." Elladan replied, leaning further back in his chair. "Besides, what am I lord of? Imladris is gone and, well... so are most of the Elves of Middle-earth."

Rana looked around and then shrugged her shoulders a little her eyes turning to the now empty bowl
"A title you no longer need then I guess ... the world is changing for the worse I fear, the elves leave these shores and yet I will stay ... I do not hear the call that binds you to the sea"
She sighed
(( ooc - question, would the sea elves having oft lived near the sea and lakes ect get 'sea longing' like other elves? ))

"I only wish to sail to join my father and mother in Valinor, but I will not sail without Elrohir. When we are both ready, we will leave, but that will be after Estel and Arwen have passed from this world." Elladan replied. "We are Noldor... we do not hear the call of the sea like the Sindar."

Rana nodded her head slightly tipping it toward the west
"you go of your own will ... to leave this world to it's darkness, but it is easy for you, you have someone to go with and I have no one in this Arda ... I guess for all my courage that I am afraid to leave"
she sighed a little her shoulders shaking as her eyes turned to look at the empty bowl
"but for now I still have hope that the world can change"

"The world will never change." Elladan replied, looking away and out to the sunlight streaming in through the window panes. "There has always been evil and there will always be someone to fight it. The time of the Elves if over." he said, his eyes locking with her own, "This time, is for the race of Men. You will see, Rana. At the turn of the next century, you will see that clearly. Then... then perhaps you will not be so fearful."

"the world will change and I will not ..."
Rana sighed her eyes catching Elladan's
"...some scars run too deeply"
She added with a shiver as if remembering something long past, something that lingered in the back of her mind, what hope was there for her an outcast ... travelling from one city to another.
"I do not know if I will ever leave for the Valinor but I hope the humans do not make a mess of Arda if all the elves leave"

Elladan laughed, "I doubt they will. Eldarion, my nephew, is quite the boy... though now that is all he is." the Elf smiled, "The race of Men has done very few things to 'mess up' this world, Rana. We started it, the Elves, they simply became caught up in it all."

Rana nodded her head slightly
"I know I just wish I could accept my past and move on, there is much to Arda that I would like to see but I'm sure that I will not see anything if I'm blinded by my past ... if only I knew Elladan"
she sighed
"the humans will care for Arda that much I know but I'm too young to accept that I have to leave to Valinor one day"

"I know of dark pasts, for it took me a while to get over my own, but you will one day. However, you have to want to." Elladan replied. "Besides, you could always wander the forests even after most Elves have left."

"and be the last remaining elf in middle earth ... no I will leave for Valanor some day ... Do you know what it's like to be the last of your kind? the last one remaining of a once proud city that is now nothing but empty ruins"
she sighed setting her forehead in to her hands
"it is a lonely life Elladan and not one I want to live"

"Very few of us survived Gabriel's attack on Imladris." Elladan replied, standing and putting both of their bowls on the counter near the wash basin. "Only three of us were actually residents of the mighty realm, my brother, Glorfindel, and myself. Many of the Elves of Lorien are Sindar, and all those who reside in Eryn Lasgalen are either Sindar or Silven. There were few Noldor left, and now there are even less." the Elf turned back to the woman, "I do not know all of what befell your people, nor do I know what it is like to be completely alone, for Elrohir was always with me, but I do know what it feels like to lose one's home, to watch it burn before your very eyes and to hear the screams of those you had lived so long with, as they are slaughtered. If not for my brother, I do not know what I would have done."

Rana's eyes widened at the mention of burning homes and of the death crys of one's kin, she shook her head and held her hands over her ears remembering too what it was like to live through something like that.
A sob hitched in her throat slightly catching there as if she had not cried in all her long life, Rana hadn't even grieved for her losses, rather she had lived with it eating away her insides.

Elladan smiled slightly, but it was sad and understanding. He walked over to the woman, putting an arm around her shoulders. "It is not well for one to bottle up so much pain and grief, mellon nin. You must grieve, Rana... your kin would not wish for you to hurt so inside."

"it hurts so much"
She mumbled leaning into his embrace, never before had she been comforted by anyone, her shoulders shaking a little as the sobs started to loosen up in her throat ... she felt as if the pain had come back, all the crys of the dying ... the heat of the fire, it was all so real

Elladan held her gently, "Iston... Iston... but with time, the pain will fade. With time, you will understand." he whispered softly.
