Whether you enjoy RPing or not, please Read this post and post your thoughts on it. This is my idea for a new RP character sheet, and several forums for it. Depending on how large your post is, ill give you some gold in increments of 100.
Ok heres the basics. There are 5 species. arrow Humans arrow Vampires arrow Werewolves arrow Demons arrow Hybrids Each race has there own special abilities, that makes them unique. Ill name some ideas here.
idea Humans- They have the weakest overall body limits. The Humans have weak skin and body tissue. This makes it difficult for them to take any major punishment. In turn, they are able to use Jutsu and magic. Also, They are able to be turned into a vampire or werewolf through getting bitten.
idea Vampires- They have more overall strength than humans, but less variety. Vampires require to feast on the blood of humans, in order to survive, as well as other basic weaknesses, such as silver and sunlight. They do however, have much more strength and are able to take more punishment than a human.
idea Werewolves- These beasts are the mightiest in terms of body strength. They have heavily enhanced muscular ability and speed. They are however, incapable of using any type of magic or special ability. they take much punishment before finally going down.
idea Demons- These creatures Vary greatly, as there are many different types. There speed and strength is averaged to be close to that of a werewolf, with some exceptions. Each breed of demon has its own special abilities and weaknesses.
idea Hybrid- There are 2 types of Hybrid, Human/Vampire, and Human/Demon. By combining the two breeds, you get there strengths and weaknesses.
So far those are my ideas for how to make things. Minor Variations to each species will be welcome. If you have any thoughts that you believe are worth sharing, please post them so i can make this as good as possible.

The Species listed there seem to be practically the exact same ones as in the Old World of Darkness games. The Game was essentially set in a moder day earth however supernatural creatures exist but have hidden them selves from Humanity. Essentially the game merges actual events from our world into a supernatural story line. For example - The reason all the supernatural creatures hide there existence from humanity is because the "inquisition" as we know it when all the witches were burnt was actually a genocidal attack from the humans on all supernatural creatures. Ultimately, the humans being much weaker in power but vastly greater in number whipped out the majority of all supernatural creatures from the world and so ever since Supernatural creatures have hidden them selves from humanity.
If you interested there are also a couple other races in existence such as the faie, wraiths and ghouls. Also some humans have mastered magic arts or have specialized in hunting evil creatures developing true faith(a sort of clerical magic). As far as the character sheets are concerned the way it tends to go is every race has its advantages and disadvantages or merits and flaws. Vampires for example are immortal can heal themselves really quickly can move quite fast and can be very strong but they are hindered in that they are terrified of fire the sun and take massive damage from them both and they have to drink blood. Mortals on the other had have very few flaws but similarly don't have any merits. As well as the Merits and flaws, in white wold each race also have sub-races essentially. For example, Vampire are divided into clans and each clan has different unique powers. So for example one Vampire clan can shapeshift(like how Dracula turns into a bat) where as another clan might be super super fast or have mind control powers or what ever. Werewolves have packs each with unique powers just. Magical humans have different casts such as necromancers or enchanters or shamans and so on.
All of the different races also have something that limits the use of their power (After all if people had any power ever it might get a bit hectic). For example vampire require blood to use their powers, a werewolf requires Gnosis, and wraith require passion. All of these things need to be obtained by the creatures in some way or another and therefor create limits on the players power.
Effectively with these character sheets first of all a player should be able to pick a race, then they should also choose a power that might be suitable for that race which will effectively define their sub-race. If people need inspiration in that respect I've got heaps of stuff.

I agree with Lucius a bit, but i do have to say that even though the characters are a bit archaic, they are pretty much the staple of all rps. now if we took this idea and gave it a modern twist, we could get a lot of feedback.
For example: Take out most of the magic and archaic values associated with the rp mentality. instead substitute technology and modern sciences to produce some of the same results. An example of this would be that a werewolf isn't spawned, it is a genetic experement gone horribly wrong. Vampires the same, maybe a government plan for super soldiers or something.
The magic thing can be taken care of with technology, such as holo projectors and palm mounted flamethrowers. i'm not saying get rid of magic entirely, but use it in terms of how we view magic in today's society. yes there can be combative magics, but on a battlefield it just wouldn't stand, the enemy would just look on as maybe some new type of weaponry. more powerful magics would be used in those situations. but in street brawls and such, yes the occasional "magic missile" would fit perfectly.
going with this also, you'd need to think of how you would "summon" such a creature as a demon, or if you decide to play as one, how, and why, you were "summoned". I.E. a demon is summoned by a jelous husband to off the wife's lover, and it turns into a killing spree. something like that.

An interesting interpretation. I in the world of Darkness system the science of supernatural creatures is explored but the theme only kinda exists second to the hole mythological, spiritual, theme. I often you'll find that if you drill every thing up to be science then people find if very easy to tear it apart. The replacement of magic offensively I think is a really good idea. I like the concept of a supernatural creature evolving to use it powers to wield modern weapons with great prowess so that it suits the moder world rather than it bing defiant and trying to use archaic powers such as throwing around fire balls, as they would seem less practical and alot less subtle in a moder world. I mean when your a creature that is essentially a monster in the eyes of humanity the last thing you wan to be doing is drawing attention to yourself. I mean sure a supernatural creature could wipe out a mass of unsuspecting humans but why would it bother when in moder society you can destroy or rule something socially fare with fare greater ease.

Ok, my mind just Revamped itself, and now im thinking more along the lines of each of your ideas. heres an idea for like a plot or something. It basically has to do with Humanities Screwing around with DNA and other Microbes. What ill do is have it set a few years in the Future, so We can have a bit more advanced weaponry, such as Daes idea of palm mounted flamethrowers, and that sort of thing, along with the basic M16's, AK's, and other guns. Heres my idea for an opening thing.
1998, it was discovered. An ancient virus with the power to alter ones DNA, and change who they were. It turned them into something unnatural, something incredible. But every action, has a reaction.....
2004, it was tested. The virus was unleashed on a small island, turning its inhabitants into Creatures, heard of only in stories. The blood feast, had began........
2008, it was unleashed. The Creatures, managed to return to the mainlands of the world. They feasted upon humanity, seen upon as a new breed. They ravaged the population, until humanity, fought back.........
2009, it was Spread. The U.S. returned to the source, hoping to find a cure. What they found, was a new foe. The virus, fused with that of a common wolf, became the opposite of what they had hoped. This new enemy, only resulted in the same scenario as the last.....
2012, It continues.......
How does that sound? It explains most of the overall idea.

Yeah i like it, Jut one little thing though. In order for this virus to stop from over spreading, rather than having it be one of these situations where a creature bite you and you turn into on of them, can we make the process of passing on the virus more vicarious. Otherwise it has a strong potential to turn into a zombie situation, all humanity runs from creatures, eventually all humanity gets bitten, all the zombies have nothing left to eat, all zombies starve and die. I mean effectively if these creatures are feeding of humans, and every time they have a nibble the human then turns into one of them then they are going to run out of humans pretty quick. So rather that the creation process being just a bite and the virus being passed on that way, you could make it so the creature has to drain all of the humans blood (essentially sucking all humanity from them) and then the creatures have to follow it up by giving the human at least a drop of its own blood. That way all the human blood is gone and this new viral blood is in. That way the creatures also get a choice in who they get to make one of them. Also it means that the creatures could feed from a human and then just let them go again, meaning they can reuse the human.

i like, but i agree with lucius. you have to make it a little bit more conservative, i just recently watched "Perfect Creature" which is a twist on the vampire myth. vampires were created genetically, but instead of hunting humans, they help them. they keep them disease free and such. they didn't show any of the typical weakinesses of normal vampires, but seemed like a different species of human. but the blood drinking was there, the humans offer blood as a religious offering, and the "brotherhood" runs the church. check out the movie if you get a chance, it was really good.
good start on the ideas tho, i like it a lot!

ok, so what im getting is, Virus=ok!, but we need to work on the spreading effect. I see what your saying, and its a good point. If everyone bitten turned, they would quickly run out of food. Makes you wonder why there are rarely more than a dozen in most movies. Ill look into the movie. For my basic Vampire ideas, i turn to Blade and Van Hellsing. And what if we make it a chance happening. If you get bit on your next post, you use the dice roll action, like a 6-sided die roll, and if you get a 1-2, you just got bit, nothing special, 3-4, you die from blood loss, 5-6, you turn. What do you think of that? If we make it where they get to choose whether they make their prey turn or not, patterns would arise, and i dont think i want to look at my messages when that occurs.
Also, another thing i want to bring up again is the use of Technology. What i was thinking, was that Humans, would have an overall advantage in the feild of technology, while having weak physical abilities, where as a Werewolf would accel in terms of its physical capabilities, but do poorly in terms of technology. Vampires could be somewhere in the middle, such as super humans, but we could make it so that they basically are only able to use certain types of technology, such as guns and which is commonly stolen.

i like where you are going with the technology thing. Another movie if you want vampires and werewolves, the perfect movies would be the Underworld series.

I have another Idea, based off other actual diseases. Take for example, Cancer (apologies to anyone offended), It takes a while for it to really start killing you, but its found way before that happens. What if we made it were the virus always infected those who were bit, but for the vampres, it takes a few days, and its a slow process of transforming you. also, we could make it to where the humans have an actual vaccine, but it has no effect on those who where born vampire, so that those who are bitten, have a chance to turn back into humans without making a new character. What do you think of that?

ye. i like how LA is thinking, where they dont turn just like that, something else happens or something. so im thinking like a timer or the dice roll. Werewolves are a bit easier, Full Moon. Vampires, im not sure. maybe a New moon. Any Ideas on that?

I think if you were to make it so the vampires have a choice on who they "make" vampiric then it will make for a more interesting conflict. If vampires had a choice on weather they just wanted to feed from someone or make then a vampire you could have their society very specifically built up and ultimately solve alot of problems. For example, you want the vampires and humans to be at war right? Well what happens when some militant of the human army gets bitten in battle and becomes a vampire. Is his perspective suddenly going to revere just because he now posses the virus? I tend to find it to be really hard on role player who have specifically chosen the personality of their character only to have it so they suddenly have to completely change their characters values and personality. Essentially if the vampire had a way of choosing who he made a vampire then they could operate in such a way so that vampires could single out individuals who were willing to fight for the vampire side in the first place. Realistically in modern society if this virus was to outbreak and the vampires had no control who became vampires then people who are most defenseless would be the ones of become vampires first. Ultimately this would lead to the vampire society being filled with the under side of society such as homeless people and those who live in the slums. Or even more realistically the virus would attack the third world first. Now this would ultimately cause the vampire side to be filled with a majority of uneducated individuals and I'm not sure if I'm a fan of that concept. The way i see it the vampire side shouldn't be any less intelligent than the humans side they just don't have the resources technologies and numbers the humans have.
Personally I like the draining dry concept because essential even if vampires had the hole bite the person three times thing going on then they would still run out of people to bite eventually.

I see. That would add a little Strategic play to the Vampire side. They could turn some people with money so they can get resources easier, or the direct resource owner. And im not saying Vampires are any less smart, but going by the timeframe i set up, which is likely to change a little, the vampires wouldnt have made it to college or gotten a major education in technology.
So the War is between the three races, Humans, Werewolves, and Vampires. Humans and werewolves are pretty much set up, but Vampires need to know how turn. Im thinking that to turn, they need a special vampire. One thats bite WILL turn them. I did a little research myself on the subject of legends, and one of them stated that only fathers were able to turn people.
