In a feeble attempt to draw people back to the guild, I'm starting a new thread! (I am allowed to do this, right?)
I don't know if anyone else does, but I tend to think about my characters a lot, examine their personalities and try to compare them to other sources as sort of a way of nailing down their tendencies and stuff that would likely be of use in an RP or story at some point or another. And I wonder if other people do this as well.
Of course, there's already a trivia thread here I think, but one question sprang to mind in particular: If your character existed in the modern world, what would they do? Occupation, residence, general personality.... Adapt them to today's lifestyle. =D Just for fun. If any other ideas come to mind, they can be discussed too.
I'm just curious and no one's posting here anymore. emo
To start off, I could see Felicity working as a blackjack or poker dealer at some busy casino, who may or may not be mildly addicted to gambling herself. She wouldn't cheat, of course; because of the security measures the thought probably would never occur to her, but the odds are stacked toward the house anyway so it doesn't matter.

Maggie would be a nurse, most likely in pediatrics. She'd probably have a small rented house or apartment, and still spend all her time at work and with Will. And I bet she'd listen to the local light rock and country stations.
My imagination is now going to wander off down this hypothetical road. Whee!

Well, the problem with my characters is that they exist in a setting that parallels the modern world with the obvious exception of the addition of magic and high tech. XD Tacitus would still be a cop, albeit a lazy one, Kane would still be a military man, albeit less monstrous, but Torment...that'd be an interesting question. Probably a drug dealer or some other sort of criminal, just to spite his father.

Yeah, same here, kind of. Actually, that's only the case really with Lu. Andy... Well, he could be dead, dying (probably on life support), or the same as he was before the "accident" that led to his transformation. I didn't feel like putting them in another time period or creating a new world. It seemed too much like work.

Hm... yeah, I probably could have thought the question through a bit better. XD In the current version, it's really only easy for those coming from direct history...
But I guess a better equivalent would be: If there were a 'real' counterpart to your character, what would they be like? That's probably not much better, really, but this is really just for fun. >>;

Tarma [this version, at any rate] would probably end up as a cop, or maybe some sort of modern military woman; she's a good tactician, and would do well as a drill instructor, training new recruits. She'd still be Catholic, still in mass every Sunday...probably still unwed, with a small functionaly furnished apartment near the base, if not on base. Frankly...she really wouldn't be too different. xd
