Ten days ago I got my navel pierced, and I had no problems at all until yesterday. That's when it got the tiniest bit swollen. I didn't think anything of it so I just continued caring for it as they had instructed me to. Then tonight, my boyfriend was being a bit rough with me, and picked me up a weird way so that my piercing was rubbed the wrong way. It hurt a little, and a few minutes later I noticed it was swollen more, but still not a lot.
Just a few minutes ago (about two and a half hours after it got rubbed the wrong way), I noticed that it is VERY SWOLLEN. The entire area that is swollen is about 1.5 inches long and 1 inch tall.
I'm wondering...is this normal? It doesn't hurt very much. It's not infected is it? I know that some swelling is normal...but this much after the fact? Anyway, I'm just worried. Help?

I'm no expert, but it's probably just angry and irritated from all the abuse. Clean it good with alcohol/tea tree oil/whatever you're using. Maybe put some ice on it to make the swelling go down...? As long as large amounts of puss isn't squirting out, it should be fine.

NEVER use alcohol/peroxide on piercings! It is way to harsh. Use a mild liquid antibacterial soap that doesn't have any added fragrance once or twice a day. A sea salt soak will help a bit, as will a little tea tree oil, but don't overload on trying to keep it clean because that can irritate it as well.
Navels are notorious for long and hard healings, but just keep taking care of it and it will eventually heal.

No, it's not infected.
I remember the first day I got my monroe, I put my hoodie on and it almost tore it out. Luckily, it swelled a little.
Unless pus is coming out, there's no way that it's infected.
