Prologue: Flying without wings, only falling it brings

The wind rushed past, each breeze was like no other, bashing against the clothes, and across the face. Meters became like centimeters. A small house came into view as he started to fall down from the sky. His body shook, but he held it together as he chanted in his mind, "this is just a dream..."

The house was even closer now, he could see the slanting of the brown shingles on the roof, and the wooden fence surrounding the backyard. A tree outstretched, like a person with out stretched hands, ready to catch him. He thought of the pain he would feel if he did indeed land against them.

So he tried to force his body towards a nice grassy place, but he could not change his direction, he continued to fall, continued to plummet into the open arms.

Smash! A few branches broke, as his weight was gathered into the limbs. They stopped his decent, and surprisingly enough it went without injury, than again he knew it was a dream. There would be no way he would be caught jumping out of the sky, especially since he remembered pulling the covers over his head as he went to sleep.

"Strange though..." he muttered as he jumped down from the tree. He landed next to the broken branches, and they made a small crack underneath him.

"Usually when I dream of falling, I wake up right before I hit the ground... so why am I still here?"

He gave himself a small pinch, and oddly enough he felt a little pain. It was not the pain he would feel in real life, but there was still a little pain. "Okay... this is a little creepy, alright Daniel, get it together." It had to be a dream, even if he did feel a little pain, it was probably only to make the dream feel more real like.

Shaking the thoughts off he walked into the house, recognizing it as his own. Everything looked like it did when he went to sleep, and it was surprisingly detailed for a normal dream. All of the surroundings looked indeed real. And there on the side of the room was a clock, it ticked away madly. The minute hand became more like a second hand. "Definitely a dream."

The minute hand hit twelve and the hour hand found its way to the seven. Immediately the alarm went off on it. The whole clock started to shake, causing a ripple effect. Soon everything started to shake, as he made his way to the clock. His hands clasped around it, and he fumbled with it till he hit the off button.

Simultaneously the room stopped shaking. "Ah...glad that is over," he sighed.

This dream was starting to be a little too much for him, he wanted to wake up, but time still continued to flow in his current state. The clock still sped, but not as fast as before. Probably most of its energy was spent with going off.

Oddly enough he actually started to feel hungry, so he went into the kitchen and got himself a sandwich. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich at that, and it tasted good going down. It was an odd thing to have, after all he could probably dream up some elaborate meal, but he just wanted to do the basics.
Beep! Beep!

"Alarm?" Daniel thought for a moment, but then realized it was actually a horn coming from outside. He spread the shades and peaked out, and saw a bus nearby his house. Kids were loading on like usual.

"Well, since it is only a dream I really don't have to go, now do I" He smiled happily, and sat down on the chair. The clock decreased in speed to the point where now it was barely moving. He looked at it in awe.

There was not a lot he could really do at home, after all if he watched tv or played video games, it would only be from his imagination, and so it would not be like the real thing. Alas he decided that perhaps going to school would not be such a bad idea. Especially the way the clock slowly crept.

Daniel reached for his backpack and opened the front door. Just as he did the bus started to depart. "Crap," he muttered under his breath. There was no way he could just simply chase after it, and he did not feel like walking to school. So he decided to just go back into his house and sleep.

"Wait a second..." he said as he started to turn the doorknob. "This is a dream...if I want to, I can chase after that bus, I can catch it!"

He spun around, and he could still see the bus departing. He stretched his legs out, and than pushed off towards the bus. His legs pushed him faster than he ever imagined he could go. His limbs burned with every stride, yet he kept pushing onward.

The bus appeared closer and closer to him and soon he was not too far away at all. The bus came to a stop, while Daniel ran as fast as he could.

He was close enough to see the students in the back seats, but he did not have time to stand and look at them, he was too busy running. The bus though, did not stay at the stop sign for too long, it started to drive off again, ignorant to the fact that he was chasing after it.

"Stop!" Daniel shouted as he found a new burst of energy helping him stay within range of the bus.

The wheels slowly stopped as the bus came to a halt. Apparently the bus driver heard him. That or it was just the fact it was his dream, either way Daniel made it to the front door of the bus.

Swish, the door opened as Daniel stepped up the stairs, half out of breath. The bus driver looked at him, "wow kid, didn't see you back there. I guess you really want to go to school."

"Yeah..." Daniel found a seat close to him so he could fall down into it.

With a simple push of the pedal the bus started in motion again, and would not stop until they arrive at school. All the while, Daniel looked out of the window, watching the clouds pass over. Just a few hours ago, or minutes depending on the reality of this place, he was up in the sky free falling. He started to imagine the wind brushing past him again, as he remembered falling.

He could see the memories pass through his mind and than realized he was day dream. "Wait a second..." he thought to himself. "How can I day dream inside a dream?"

[[Hasn't be edited yet so meh, I might do it one day XD]]
