This thread will be a guide to Harvest Moon Magical Melody. From prices, to heart gifts, to birthdays... it will be here.
First off, when you begin the game, for those who have never played it, you start off having to choose your gender.
Choose a boy or a girl.
For me, I find that by choosing the girl, there are a lot more choices for marriage.
Then, you must choose a season.
...........................................................................................................
Example of a file:
Gender: Girl Season: Winter
............................................................................................................
Now the first part of the fun begins. You are walking into Flower Bud Village, travelling, wanting to open a ranch when you see a sign about an exciting ranch plan! Yay! You are thinking. (Your character will jump up and down... btw, this is a cutscene) So, you go into town square when the mayor Theodore comes up to you and says, "Welcome to Flower bud, your name is...?"
Then you choose a name.
...........................................................................................................
First person of many for the music notes: Theodore
............................................................................................................
Example that I started:
Gender: girl Season of Birth : winter Name of character : Chichi
...........................................................................................................
Tip: If you want to go for a theme for your ranch, then pick a name that you know of that has a lot of connections. DBZ is the one I chose here. Chichi was a popular character in the series. ..........................................................................................................
Theo will then say, "Oh, (player's name), so you are here for the ranch plan? Okay, then I need you to first pick a location for your first house and then pick a name for your ranch."
..........................................................................................................
My next post will be about locations.

Locations:
1. On the beach - the land here is pretty big and is one of your first three choices. However, most of the time, I do not pick here to start. I do move my house here later sometimes. I would do my crops here with the help of the fertilizer. (Explanations on how to get fertilizer later)
2. Next door to the tool shop or Village center - Here, the space is horrible, but you can get to a money making spot the fastest. The everyday mine I call it. And... if you manage to make it to the bottom right away, possible, but I have never done it, you get a power berry. The bottom of both mines is floor 100. This is also one of your initial choices to place your house. I often use this land for planting crops.
3. Next door to Blue Sky Ranch or River side - One of the best choices to put your house first thing for many reasons. All you need to really do is remove those three big Mora trees in your way and you will be able to expand your house no problem. Plus, you are close to a plot of land where you can plant crops without the need of fertilizer. It also gives you a clear idea where to do what you need. The beach, if you place your house on the river side, can be used for your barn and chicken coop. The village center can be used for your crop growing. Plus, you do not have the inconvienence of moving your house.
4. Not one of your initial choices, but Woodsman forest. Okay, I would never place my house here. But, I would like to own it and then find the truffle that lays somewhere in there. It has a bunch of evergreens and Mora trees. Tip: Clear out the ever greens only!
5. Own the beach - there are three or more plots of land that you can buy where you practically own the entire beach. Each costs you a bunch of money, but you gotta spend money in order to get money back. Plus, your initial beach side location only gives you a portion of the beach, not the whole thing.
6. Next door to the mine - This land is filled with Evergreens. Keep the forest of evergreens here. It is where you want these trees.
7. Behind the mayor's house - excellent for fruit trees, grow them here.
8. The mountain areas - here are four... I think... plots of land you can get. These are spacious enough to build a house. You should build your second house on one of these plots of land. I do this many times.
9. The harvest Goddess's house - you cannot buy that land, but it is practically owned by you and the three harvest sprites named Arthur, Billy, and Carlos when you start the game. You get one power berry here and this is where you must return to many times. Next door to this house is available land, and is where you have the chestnut haven. There are many chestnut trees here. I would clear the other trees though.
.........................................................................................................
Once you get all the available plots of land, you get a music note.
........................................................................................................
In my next post, I explain what the music notes are and from what I know of how to get them for sure.
