Insignia Independednt guard is having tryouts and open gyms soon. I've been planning on trying out for 4 years and I'm finally out of high school so I can. I'm very nervosue. It's wierd because I would get a little nervosuse in high school guard, but nothing to bad at all, I felt confident. But, for independent I'm nervose. I did guard for 3 years in high school (graduated 1 year early so lost the last year) and I was captain my 3rd year, co captain my 2nd. But, besides that not much else. The peopole in independent have taught guards and such as well!!! But, I want this so bad. And advice to do really well at open gyms and tryouts?

Wwell to help your nerves, I do this before try-out performances and such, is eat a banana an hour before your try-out. it will help your nerves! Second just be yourself. they look for uniqueness in a person. They want to see your personality come out in your work and in your performance. My Instructor Terry told me this stuff so that I could prepare for try-outs for the cast and Carolina crown in a few months!
I wish you the best of luck!!!

If your making up your routine make sure to do it to a song that you love and gives you confidence, it will help you feel more in place while you are twirling.
