Well I just got done with the first few episodes and so far I can say this show is awesome. It's from the FLCL people so it has a tone of humor as well as some action and at time. The show is about a boy named Simon. Simon is from Jiiha village, a town which is underground, in Jiiha village. miners drill to expand land and to get Steak (Yeah Srsly.) One day while Simon is digging he finds a necklace of a Golden Drill which he later finds out is a key to a robot which they named Lagann. After a little mishap between and him so-called brother Kamina. He later on finds a Mecha while drilling which is later named Lagann. Simon uses Lagann to fight a monster who attacks his village. Afterwards Simon,Kamina and a girl named Yoko go to the surface and start they're adventure.

All in all it's a very original show that tears away from the typical bishōnen/bishōjo genre that has been lurking in anime for years. I highly recommend it if you wanna see something very unique and original.
