"The sun is up." Nufeniel remarked, wathcing Melkor closely. The Vala was studying Legolas' eyes intently. "Master?" "Not now." Melkor whispered, her gaze locked with the prince's own. She was searching deep within him, to try and find some weakness that could be used against him. "I think visions of the past are too easy for you to overcome." she said, speaking to the archer. Legolas smirked, "Really?" he asked with a tired voice. "So... I am going to give you an option. Either you submit to us now... or I will bring back the dead soul of one you love and let that loved one inflict my punishment upon you." The prince glared, "You would never..." "Try me."

Legolas felt it as clearly as day. His consciousness was wavering, his hold over his own mind was slowly but surely being worn away to nothing. He would lose this battle, of that the prince was certain. Melkor's poison was eating away at him, both physically and mentally. Long ago he had lost any feeling in his body and now he hung, his tattered mind trying to sort the truth from the lies that Morgoth spoke. "This is your hour, Elfling." Melkor said with a smile, watching her captive intently. "You are new. You are whole. You belong... to me." Legolas found himself closing his eyes as his mind tried to retreat from the lies.

Melkor's laugh echoed through the halls of Nufeniel's fortress. Her joy was evident, as she watched the Elven prince before her, hanging helplessly from magical bonds. Her smile grew wider still, as a lone tear snaked it's way down Legolas' cheek. He was tired, so very tired. HIs body could go without rest, yes, but his mind had so far been unable to retreat away. Melkr had been feeding him so many half truths and lies, that the prince could no longer sift through them. He believed the lies, and his mind had become so shattered that he responded to any suggestion. He did not care anymore, did not feel anymore. The prince's body was numb, save for the burning fires of Morgoth's poison within. The toxin had worked it's way through his entire system. But Legolas no longer cared. What part of him that was truly the prince, what little of that self was left, just wanted to die. To end this torment once and for all. Melkor's hand reached out, gently wiping the tear from the Elf's cheek. "I pity you." the woman said, lifting the prince's chin in one hand so their eyes would lock. The gaze that Melkor saw was empty, no longer full of life or hope. "I truly do. If you had submitted in the first place, we would not be here today. But as it is, Legolas... you must answer me one question." The prince did not respond, so the woman continued. "Whom do you serve?" There was a long moment of hesitation from the Elf. Most of his mind was so shredded that he no longer knew who stood before him. He could not remember who he was, save for his name, nor where he came from. All of his memories had been stripped of him, completely stripped of him. Melkor was shapping him into a new being to fit her plans. "Whom do you serve?" the question came again and, as Legolas blinked, he spoke. His voice was but a tired whisper, tinged with pain, but the words were clear to both women in the room. "You, Master." Melkor's laugh once more rang through the halls. Nufeniel, having watched the entire breaking process, was astonished. She had tried to wipe the prince's memory clean many times in her life, but never before had see seen it succeed save for stealing his soul, and that had had it's own flaws. Nufeniel's smiled as she watched the prince. Her joy, in that moment, was unparalleled. Even if he was rescued, Nufeniel knew, he would never be the same again. He was broken, beaten, and maimed so badly that not even the Maia would be able to fix him this time, of that the woman was sure. Prince Legolas Thranduilion of Mirkwood... was no more.

Melkor smiled and she released the spell holding Legolas to the wall. Of course, the prince was far too exhausted to hold himself upright and he fell onto his stomach upon the floor. Nufeniel walked over, gently picking up the prince and laying his lithe form in the bed that Dawn had occupied earlier. "Master, do you wish for him to rest?" the dark Elf asked, looking to the other woman. Melkor nodded, "He needs to regain his strength before we can plan further."

Nufeniel looked up sharply, her gaze on the door. "He is back..." she whispered. Melkor's eyes followed the dark Elf's own. "Who?" "Talli." The Vala laughed, "Get rid of him. We shall have no one interfere in our plans." With a smile, Nufeniel rushed out of the room and into the hallway.

Legolas' eyes opened slowly and he found a flowing canopy hanging over his head. The Elf had not even realized that his eyes had been closed. He passed it off to extreme exhaustion... yet he knew not why. In fact, the more the prince thought about it, the more he realized he had no idea where he was. He was in a strange bed in an unfamiliar room... yet, at the same time, he could not grasp onto any memory that should have told him this place was unfamiliar to begin with. So Legolas just laid there, hardly feeling the energy to move just yet. He heard yelling and raised voices from the hall, but he could not make out what was being spoken, nor whom was doing the speaking. When the door to the chamber opened, his eyes lighted on two forms which his tired mind thought he should remember. He knew them, and yet.... "Legolas?" Nufeniel asked, realizing that the prince was already awake. "How do you feel?" she spoke, rushing to his side. The archer tried to sit up but he found that he was still too tired. Then he noticed the wound on the dark Elf's arm. "You are injured." he stated. Nufeniel shook her head, "It is just a scratch." "One that I shall deal with now." Melkor replied, taking Nufeniel's arm in her hand and casting a spell of healing over the wound. The woman hissed slightly, but found that her arm felt ultimately better. "Now, we have things to discuss." Melkor stated, looking to Legolas. Something within the woman's eyes spoke to the prince, bidding him to fulfill her every whim, her every desire. And he wanted to... badly wanted to. "You must prove where your loyalties lie, dear prince." Melkor continued, drawing Legolas farther and deeper into her piercing gaze. The archer nodded slightly, "Oh course, master." he spoke, not even hesitating in his words. "You must go to the realm of Eden Cuil soon, once you are rested and healed, and you must bring me a token of your alligence." "Anything, master. Name it and it is yours." he replied. Melkor smiled, as did Nufeniel. "I want the head of Thranduil, son of Oropher, Elvenking of Eryn Lasgalen, and the current Steward of Eden Cuil." Legolas did not even flinch, "Your wish is my command, master. As you have commanded it, it shall be carried out. I will take this prize myself, and hasten to this fortress once more." "Good... I know you will my loving and faithful servant." Melkor replied, her smile widening as she gently traced the resting prince's face. "But do not speak to any of your errand. Do it in secret, let none know of your dark thoughts. You return to that realm as it's Lord and Master and you must act accordingly. But I warn you, the words they speak are lies. Do not allow them to know that you can see through their treachary. Go along with their words and pretend, my servant, act as if you have the utmost confidence in what they say." "As you command." Legolas replied with another slight nod. "Good." Melkor turned, "Rest, dear prince. Regain your strength and your wits... for soon you will undertake your mission of loyalty." she smiled, glancing over her shoulder, "If you succeed... then anything you ask for will be yours."

Talli stood outside the door for a moment, gathering up his wits. Come on, where was his charisma? His charm? He shouldn't be afraid. He wouldn't quit on his promise. He broke too many long ago. So now he's risking his life once more. The rogue lifted a hand and knocked on the wood a couple of times, before opening it. He stuck his head through, "You know...I wasn't done talking to you ladies."

Nufeniel stood directly between the rogue and Legolas. She glared at Talli, but preferred to allow her master to handle the situation. Melkor smirked, "And what more could you possibly have to say?" she asked in a mocking tone. The prince, watched the scene without emotion. In his mind, he knew not who the rogue was, nor why he should even care. However, there was this underlying loyalty to both women that screamed at him to protect them from this intruder.

Talli raised a brow, eyes darting over to Legolas. He was safe, no harm done. Or at least thats how it looked. The prince looked vacant, and in no hurry to escape the surroundings that he seemed perfectly aware of. The rogue made sure not to stare too long or ask questions. Instead he flashed a smile to Melkor, stepping into the room when he was sure Nufeniel wouldn't attack. Her powder hadn't worn off yet, but he found the sensation bearable for the most part. If he could move, that was good enough for him. Seemed that when the water dried off, the pain got less. "I am in the middle, Melkor. I hold no allegience to Ithilien, nor to you. I am a rogue, and I have been for a long time. Most of the time I do things as I see fit, which explains why I waver from time to time. It's part of looking out for myself, but I did not lie about the debts. And I will not be bound to them. So you could say I just want my conscience cleared, before I start anew in my wreaking of havoc."

Melkor nodded, "Than consider your conscience cleared." she replied, "Unless you would rather take on a mission to assassinate Sario for me?" Nufeniel smirked, but said nothing.

"And how exactly do you plan on doing that?" Nufeniel asked, "Contrary to what you may think, Tallison... She does not love you." Melkor smiled at the taunt, her attention entirely on the rogue. "If you wish to come back into our fold, then you may... but you must show my your loyalty first. If you wish to return to Sario and pay off your so-called debt, then you may do so. But you are wasting my valuable time so could you kindly, dear rogue, get to the point?" Nufeniel could tell that Melkor was losing her patience. If she lost it completely, the Dark Elf thought, then Talli... the great traitor... might be the vent for her anger. This, the woman decided, she would greatly enjoy to see.

Talli tapped his fingers on the door, staring at the two women. His luck was running thin and he could no longer dodge the real reason he came here. Legolas was just a few feet away. Would he be able to grab the prince and make a run for it, at least long enough until Elbereth could transport them back to Eden Cuil? He had to find out, after casting a few spells. Letting his mind grope through the newfound knowledge, he came upon a paralyzing spell. It'd get Nufeniel, he would believe. But as for Melkor, was she prepared? Yet another surprise he'd just have to initiate and see the actual results. "Well I hope you'll be able to take me back," he smiled, moving his arms so that they dangled loosely at his sides. It would take him a second to gather up enough energy. "As for Sario? I've known for a long time I've lost my affection from her..." he stopped for a moment, still recalling the woman's painful screaming for the Captain back in the room not too long ago. "So I too would someday like to follow in her footsteps. But for now...I still can't help but strive to gain her approval, to let her see me the way she did a long time ago. Maybe one last time..." His voice had gone soft, and it seemed he was talking more to himself than to the two women. Indeed, this question sparked something up in the rogue. Was it his farewell speech? Smiling, Talli raises up his hands in a sign of defeat, "This would do though. I could just substitute your glares and contorted face for her smile when I RUIN YOUR PLANS!" Slamming his hands forward, followed by a few grunts and scrambled words, he let loose a black pulse toward the two women. It was enough to knock them back and away from guarding Legolas, but he would not know if he had stunned them yet. So not waiting, the dark elf darted to the bed where the prince laid. If he had more time, he'd note the void look in his eyes, the lightness gone from his steps, and his possible refusal to actually move. But he was on a tight schedual. Talli grabbed both of Legolas' arms and started running back, semi pulling and dragging the archer out of the bed and across the room to through the door. "Yoink!"

Nufeniel slammed back into the far wall, while Melkor was thrown back a few steps. The Vala did not fall, but she did not pursue Talli either. Turning, she cast a spell on Nufeniel, waking the now unconscious woman. "Go after him!" she shouted, but in a whisper, that only the dark Elf could hear, the Evil Vala added, "But let him escape." Nufeniel stood, nodding, and rushed out of the room after the rogue.
Legolas meanwhile, was nearly being dragged from the chamber. By the time they were in the hall, the prince was able to gain his feet and run after Talli. 'Go with him...' a voice spoke within the archer's mind. 'He will lead you to your goal... to your test.' It was Melkor, he knew. Thus, Legolas followed Talli from the fortress.

Nufeniel would have glared at Melkor, if the action would have made any difference. Legolas was being won back over to their enemies, and the dark Vala was doing nothing to prevent it. "All in good time, dear Nufeniel." Melkor would say before gazing back out across the expanses between Mordor and Ithilien. In truth, the dark Elf was about fed up. She wanted Legolas, that much was certain, and not only had Melkor let the prince escape, she was doing nothing to alter the events which were taking place. "Master, perhaps if you..." "All in good time." the evil Vala responded. Nufeniel clenched her hands into fists, tightening her jaw as she forced herself to refrain from arguing. 'This is pointless!' she thought. 'We are getting nowhere with just handing him back like that!' Melkor turned, regarding her servant's expression and barely controlled anger. "Do you wish to know my plan?" she asked. Nufeniel looked up, "But of course." Melkor smiled, "I am testing my power, actually. It seems it has been growing stronger and stronger as of late. If they are able to break the spell upon the prince, which may be possible, then we shall know their true power. I do not want to underestimate them, Nufeniel... as you have in the past." "But Master..." "My plan is foolproof, Nufeniel. Just trust in that." With a sigh, the dark Elf bowed, "As you wish." Smiling once more, Melkor turned back to the window.
