I don't know how many people here are a part of the Viz mailing list, but recently they've sent out a survey regarding downloading manga. Mainly, they're trying to get an idea of whether or not manga fans would want to buy their mana online through downloads rather than purchasing the actual books. I'm wondering what all of you think of that--is digital manga better better than a book? Or is holding the actual physical volume in your hand more satisfying?

I personally think that buying the physical book is better. While a digital copy of something can be taken almost anywhere these days, I think that holding the paper and ink copy in my hands is a much more satisfying experience.

Buying the book is definately a lot better. Plus it's good for bathroom reads. 3nodding

EDIT: I only like downloading the unlicensed manga/anime. But still, I hope to god that VIZ won't make us buy and read on the computer. With shojo-beat going down hill for me, I just hope they won't do this. *sigh* what are these licensing companies thinking? sad

I really don't like reading manga on computer screens, etc. And iPods? How would THAT work? I have a video iPod, and there's no way a page of manga could be read on that thing!

Besides, I like having the physical books to freak out about finding a place for and possibly get signed by creators.
