Maybe there should be a small tax on certain items like monthly collectables.

SkysTheLimit3107 Maybe there should be a small tax on certain items like monthly collectables. I could sort of live with that, though being a new vendor I tend to get a little profit off of sealeds.

if the gold went to something useful then it wouldn't be so bad. ebay uses their fees to keep the site up and running. what is gaia gonna use it for. see that's where we need to think of altrernatives. we need to find a way where our gold isn't going into nothingness.

if they could maybe set a cap on items like collectibles. say that you are only allowed to sell the item for up to 5% more than the current average price. i know that it could be complicated but it would be effective.

Yes, this is exactly what we need. The tax wouldn't be so bad if we had something to compensate for it.
I think that we should have an admin controlled market distributors (ACMDs). Sort of like AI. Its where server-controlled characters would spawn the extinct items and sell them at lower than usual prices. Say the Angelic Halo right now is at 30 mil (just an example). The admin would create it out of nothing, and sell it for 25 mil, and with more ACMDs, the general price could permanently drop to 25 mil. Now, when the Halo is sold, the 25 mil that is sent to the ACMD could be eliminated; thus removing gold from the general population and in theory lowering inflation; while also adding more quantity to the rare items and naturally deflating them also.

How about just having a random event where they take 10 gold away from you? Gaia wants to remove some gold from the system yea?

I actually like that idea! That should probably be put on teh petition. The one with random events. It COULD be good, but only if you aren't too unlucky. >.< Lol An idea we came up with on the thread would be to have seasonal fashion trends in teh stores which would be deleted from sale after that season and give them a sense of rarity. That way, stores could add new items but not get too full.

Their reason for putting the 2% tax in is to remove gold from the system. Well they're already putting lots of gold into the system.
Getting rid of Daily Chance would help, but they're not going to do that.
Lowering the chances of receiving gold in Daily Chance would help slightly. Making only 1 Daily Chance instead of 7 would work too.
Also introducing higher-priced commons like the Elegant set helps.

people would just start to 'hack' themselves with mules just to claim their money back.
rolleyes i dont think its too effective, though i would like some way to be assured our items back.

They would probably ban the person who recieved the items. You would loose and regain your items... minus a mule... not really that effective of an abuse...

Lamia250 Someone mentioned something....a cancelation fee, right? Post your alternatives here biggrin biggrin biggrin I think......we should have some sort of expiring vending lincense, one we have to renew. *shrugs* Expiring vending licenses (based off the amount of gold transacted through a user's shop) is the most neglected alternative. I think it would be ideal 3nodding I'm also a fan of a combined effort on initiatives towards alternative gold sinks... many all at once, as disruptively as possible. More over though, I'm trying to raise awareness of a project of mine designed to facilitate the trading/exchange system to run more market-like through the supplement of an off-site market listing finalized on Gaia through trading. We have the programmers, I think we'll have the webspace/bandwidth, but we don't have as much participation as we need. In order to do anything for the community worth doing developers need to be in touch with that community (the consequences of which are readily apparent to anyone following how poorly the administration is dealing with this Donnybrook situation) They're our items, our buying, our selling... our business... why not run OUR OWN MARKET?
