Description:
Nekissu is a personal, very awkward looking, fighting style for the Tsunomi clan. The fighting style name itself comes from the Japanese words for ‘Cat’ and ‘Drift’.
The first part of the name, ‘Cat’, was put in place to describe the person’s movement. Almost fluid like, very flexible, and while in combat the user always find a way to land on there feet. The second part, ‘Drift’, is to describe how the user moves along the ground. The user takes small bounds with large momentum thrusts in whichever direction they want to go, almost making it seem as if they are drifting across the floor.
To describe how the fighting stance is we will assume that the person is right handed, although masters of the bloodline and the fighting style tend to switch during combat.
Firstly, the persons left foot is placed flat and firmly on the ground. This foot is put about half a shoulder width ahead and to the left of the person’s body. The upper leg goes straight out in front of the person while the lower leg is slanted at a diagonal to allow the foot to be placed in its proper position, knee almost always at about a 135 degree bend (( In between 90 and 180 )). As if that legs positioning wasn’t bad enough, this is where it gets really weird. The upper right leg is almost completely vertical, even more so then that of when you’re walking normally, while the lower leg is almost bent completely horizontal, leaving the knee at a almost perfect 90 degree bend. The right foot is for the most part completely vertical also while the toes of the right foot are planted flat on the ground. This foot is positioned about 135 degrees from the front of the persons body, so basically right in between directly right and directly behind the person. Given the extreme bends and twist of the persons leg positioning the person must have great lower body strength to be able to use this fighting stance (( trust me I know, I was hopping around my basement floor like this and I was tired after a few minute, I’m not an extremely fat or weak person either )). The arm positioning isn’t as nearly complex as the leg positioning, although there are two different arm stances. The first is a 1 to 3 relationship between each arm ((broken down to a 90 degree to 270 degree relationship representing all 360 degrees around the person)). Under the assumption that the person is still right handed, the right hand is the main guard hand, guarding a total of 270 degrees around the person. Each hand is held for the most part directly above the corresponding knee ((left hand above left knee, right hand above right knee)). The right hand is held straight down to the side of the person, not exactly dangling but still quite limp. The upper left arm is held at about a 45 degree angle from the body while the fore arm is held horizontally, hand right above the left knee.
Naturally the center of gravity of the person is quite low, and drifting along the floor keeps the person even lower. This is because as long as they have something beneath there feat they can move there body in just about any way in a split second.
Although this is there traditional fighting style they can also do flips and other acrobatic typed things better then that of a regular shinobi ((the power rangers aint got s**t other then giant robots on these guys)).
(( I will see If I can draw up a sketch to show what I mean when describing this, its really quite weird and I don’t know if everyone will understand. ))
