As you will soon know [or possibly even already do], this is a personality quiz-ish thing that determines what kind of wand you should have. Meaning, what the core will be, what would it will be made out of, and what it will be good at, based on the type of person you are.
In plain English, what kind of wand would pick you.
It's rather enjoyable. You can take it then post your results here and whether or not you like your results. Maybe as a bonus do wand types for your favorite characters? I'll probably do that when I have more time.
Just because I can't take the credit, I got this off of a different guild I am in. I enjoyed myself there and thought it would be enjoyed here.
So....
Enjoy.
My Wand.... ....is of Rowan, with a Pheonix Feather.
Keywords: Tree of the Wise, Intuition, True Essence of Things, Insight, Creativity, Foresight, Lightening, Active Protection, Healing, Astrology, Dispelling Evil Charms, Finding What is Hidden, Strong and Unpredictable Power, Autumn, Wisdom of Old Age
Description: This wand is powerful and precise. Though it might be unpredictable, it has a deep impact on the inner nature of things and due to that fact it can be used in high level magic practices (especially for transfiguration). It is very good for active defense but not suitable for spells which demand long-lasting effort.
Yew with a Pheonix Feather also came up, but that one is too strange to put here. If you get it as well you'll understand....

My Wand is...
Maple with Unicorn Hair.
Keywords: Good Fortune, Luck, Success in Life, Prosperity, Positive Energy, Optimism, Easiness, Attraction, Popularity, Integration, Unification, Sweetness, Freeing from Deep Passions and Depressive Thoughts.
Description: This is generally an all purpose wand. It is more suitable for charms and other 'easy' aspects of magic, than for more 'hard' ones. Can be effectively used for healing purposes and for creating various light and sweet charms. Is not much appropriate for active battle spells (and the defensive ones are no exception).

I know how that is. I suggest taking it a few times, and going with what makes the most sense to you. But for the time being just go with your guy and choose as quickly as possible.

Did you get this from Accio Magic? razz
Ok, so here's mine. And, I'm just typing it all out. I got three different results with different wand cores.
My Wand is...
Apple, with a Pheonix Feather.
Apple is favourable in love spells, divinations, healing, ferility, gaining and preserving beauty and youth. It also awakes otherwordly senses and thus allows spiritual work; in particular, dream-travelling and watching far-away places (such as in magical mirrors).
Keywords: Beauty, Consciousness, Intelligence, Choice, Eternal Youth and Beauty, Young Age, Light, Culture, Society, Love, Dreams, Desire, Gift, Desired but forbidden, Aphrodite, Venus.
Description: Strict, definite and accurate. Very good all-purpose wand, usually easy to handle. Shows very results in transfiguration, performing all transformations fast and effectively. Can be used in active magic combat: not very good for Dark Arts (can be used mainly for invoking hallucinations, but not for direct harm). Indicates owner's inclination to leadership and often points his high position in various social structures. As a rule, such people are well respected in.
-------------------------
Birch, with Pheonix Feather
Symbolism of "New Beginning" and of "New Life" is present in all qualities of this wood. Birch is associated with children, for they are the most natural "beginners" of this world, as well as with the new level of spiritual grow in general. Birch is also known for it's good physical healing abilities. It can help in recuperation and in restoring one's strength. Being kind and compassionate, Birch will never refuse anyone who are in need of it's supprt. Pure and light nature of Birch has lead to it's using in purification rites and in cleansing rituals. This tree is good for expelling evil spirits and spirits of the past; though it is unable to destroy them.
Keywords: New Beginnings, Another Chance, Higher Lever, Purification, Innocence, Kindness, Expelling Evil, Freeing From Past, Curing From Sorrows, Tenderness, Compassion, Light.
Wand Description: Clear, definite and light, very good for charms and healing purposes. Suits well for transfiguration, especially in renewing various things or creating a new structure instead of the lost one. Can successfully dispel evil curses, but is less suitable for direct combat. Extremely good for spells dealing with light.
-------------------------
Holly, with Pheonix Feather
The use of Holly in spiritual and magical practices is very important yet often misdirected, for this tree's true symbolical meaning is hard to understand. It is generally used for guarding against evil and as a link to the spiritual world. It can also grant very strong protection and physical beauty. Being the wood with very active nature, Holly can be used in combat spells - but with caution, since its power is of very special nature, and is effective only in ultimate 'life-or-death' situations.
Keywords: Holiness, Guidance from the Spiritual World, 'Chosen One', Christ, A Hero, Immortality, Rebirth, Predestined Confrontation and Banishing Evil, Revenge, Settling The Balance, Active Combat, Special Abilities, Physical Beauty.
Wand Description: Strong, active and definite. Good in combat spells, especially in those dealing with active protection. Extremely good for defence against dark magic. Also does well in transfiguration, but is less suitable for easy charms. Indicates the owner's abilities for leadership and may point to the special karmic predestination.
I hope you got all that. I think what they have in common is that I'm good at transfiguration, and I'm a holy person. Woot.

Hawthorn with Phoenix Feather: In magic, Hawthorn is primarily used for love charms and strengthening beauty, as well as for inducing illusions and and fogging the mind. It can be used in transformation and symbolical sacrificial rituals, in practices, dealing with slowing down or speeding up the time, in harming or damaging spells and even in long-term curses (such as the spindle curse from the famous tale of Sleeping Beauty) Keywords: change, inevitable transformation, fate, young beauty, chastity, end of innocence, coming into age, love charms, female sexuality, desire, harm, loss and misfortunes, gaining new abilities, revealing the new grown inner structure, illusions. Wand Description: This wand is very creative and rather strong, but unsteady. Good mostly for intuitive magic, which means first of all for charms; but can also provide exceptional results in higher branches of Transfiguration. For it deals perfectly with object's essential transformation, of course if used with extreme caution. Not good for classic defense techniques, but can be used for the creation of deceptive illusions which disorient the enemy.
Elder with Phoenix Feather: Perhaps, the most powerful of all woods, Elder must be used with extreme caution. It can be very good in matters of protection from agression and banishing the evil spirits, though only in the case when the bearer is 'on the right side.' In addition to this, Elder is indispensable in all rituals which has a meaning of 'completion' or aimed at revealing the truth. Keywords: Mystery, impossiblitiy to understand, end of all things, completion, honesty, power, banishing evil, active protection, chthonic beings, misfortunes, cutting off the redundant, summation, ultimate death, scorching light, the way for new life, secrets revealed. Wand Description: Quick and powerful. Can be unpredictable. Can be equally good for all magical branches (or equally bad for them...) The effect which it produces is very strong, but is sometimes totally unexpected. Usually this wand is chosen by 'strange' people who posses very high magical potential. Is suitable for both creative and destructive practices; in fact it is the best wand for demoliton or extensive cleansing. For it can destroy an object completely.
Blackthorn and Phoenix Feather: Blackthorn is usually used for cleansing purposes (mainly for soul-cleansings) and and for re-establishing the broken connections with nature forces. It can help to change one's life radically, delivering from what is redundant or wrong. It is also favorable for nurturing and guarding the lesser ones, -but must be used with caution, for Blackthorn's nurturing often implies death for those who nurture. Keywords: Sudden and painful changes, transition, fate, invisable sacrifice, bringing the new life through own death, nurturing, suffering, healing, cleansing, connection with nature, love, posthumous wish comes true, inevitable course of life, promise of immortality. Wand Description: Being strong, sudden and even painfully sharp. This wand, however, can not effect things in a direct way. Like the yew wand with the same core, it can produce outstanding results in any branch of magic, but for a very high price for the owner. It has the ability to change the very essence of things, thus transforming them completely, but the effort could cost the owner his life. Often he doesn't even have a choice to prevent it. Moreover for younger witches it increases the possibility of problems in birth delivery.

I got this from Snape's Army. You can take it as many times as you want, but please don't make up answers just so you can get the wand you wish for.
ps. There hasn't been a single "No. They were absolutely ridiculous." vote yet! Huzzah.

My wand is made from:
Vine
And has a core of:
Unicorn Hair
Wand Description: Mild and springy, very pliable. Good for complex charms, usually those with deep symbolism. Is mainly perceptive by nature, and doesn't show very good potential in magic practices, where the straightforward and active approach is required. Can be used in preserving rituals and in illusions bringing. Suitable for minor tricks, but not for Dark Arts in traditional sense.
VINE:
In magical and spiritual workings, Vine is often used for the purpose of gaining artistice and poetic inspiration. It can also make someone forget all sad and disturbing thoughts (only temporarily, though) and can be used to create illusions and induce false visions. On higher level, this wood is used in rebirth and trasnformation rituals, as wel as obtaining sacred knowledge.
Keywords:
Joy, exhiliration, feasts, carnal pleasures, creative inspiration, cunning, deception, tricks, illusion, vitality, sacred knowledge concerning true heritage, promise of rebirth, hidden mystery, preservation of the true essence.

And power-hungry Slytherin loved those of great ambition...|> ---|I think some of the questions asked had answers that were more along the lines of what I call "lesser of two evils" answers - that is, you pick the one you disagree with less. It's not a good way of gauging personality in most cases.
I actually got a wand I'm not surprised with, though I do think I'd work as well with elder or yew.|--- <|Slytherin Pride!

There were a few questions that I wasn't quite sure of myself, so I asked someone else who knew me better than I knew myself. ^^; I give my thanks to Lianara, a special lady in my life. *sends love Lia's way*
I was actually quite surprised with my results. Well, not some of it, but the instances where it mentions how beauty and love and fertility and whatnot. Well, the superficial things, moreso than love. I've never really been someone that's picky about how I look. I think if I had to choose the wand that I thought best suited me out of the three, I'd pick... Birch or Holly and Pheonix Feather.

I have a concern. One of the earlier questions asked what my planet was. Okay. I'm fine with that. But the options were 'sun' and 'moon'.
Aren't those both definitely NOT planets, and do I really want to be taking a quiz by someone who doesn't know that?
Nonetheless...
All my wands had dragon heartstring cores, and they were all good for dark magic and pain-causing. I don't think that's fair. I'm so not evil. And even if I were, how would the quiz know that? It only asked me questions like the one about the un-planets...
However, it was a good quiz, and a good waste of time.

And power-hungry Slytherin loved those of great ambition...|> ---|Yeah, I boggled a bit at the sun and moon question, too.
I think the thing with wands that are good for dark magic is that they're just powerful wands in general, and as Slughorn points out, wizards/witches of a certain calibre are usually drawn to that aspect of magic, if only because they're looking for a challenge for their power and knowledge. So don't feel bad, Kat!|--- <|Slytherin Pride!

Ha, the sun and moon question made me laugh a little inside.
So, I was just curious, how did you decifer the blade or mirror question? Lia and I came up with a theory, and I just wanted to hear others. Are you a... blade or mirror? And why did you pick what you did?
