Welcome to Diagon Alley, where you may find all of your magical needs!
Everything, from Potion ingredients to books, owls to robes, quidditch supplies to brooms!
Here is a list of the shops you will find here, and the products and services they offer.
In time, we'll have a list of owners, as well.
Slug & Jiggers Apothecary - The Apothecary is a fascinating shop crammed with all sorts of interesting things. There are barrels of slimy stuff lined up on the floor and jars of all sorts of powders, herbs, and the like along the walls. Bundles of feathers, fangs, and claws hang from the ceiling.
A Variety of Cafes and Restaraunts - Any treats, meals or drinks you can imagine! (ooc: If you wish to run your own cafe/restaurant/Pub, all you need to do is start a thread and make the first post look cool)
The Cauldron Shoppe - This shop, the closest one to the entrance from the alley behind the Leaky Cauldron, sells all sorts of cauldrons. Specializes in Copper, Brass, Pewter, Silver, Self-Stirring, Collapsible. Has any size you may be looking for.
The Daily Prophet Offices - There is an office of the Daily Prophet in Diagon Alley (PS/f). Letters to the editor should be sent by owl to "The Daily Prophet, Diagon Alley, London."
Eeylops Owl Emporium - A dimly lit shop which, sells tawny, screech, barn, brown, and snowy owls. Also sells cages, food and treats for the domestic owl.
Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour - a wonderful place for a tasty treat on a warm day! I wouldn't recommend the Bertie Bott's Every Flavour variety, however.
Flourish & Blotts - Manager is a bit brusque, but then he has to deal with strange and bothersome things like books that bite, books that are completely invisible, and book signings by Gilderoy Lockhart, who draws quite a crowd which can get a bit unruly at times
Gambol & Japes Joke Shop - An affiliate of Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes, found in Hogsmeade.
Gringotts Wizarding Bank - A high security, goblin operated bank. The highest security bank in the world.
The Junk Shop - Perfect for the beginning repairman. Find tonnes of broken wands, thin books, holy cauldrons, unbalanced scales and many other unseen treasures. Word has it, anything written by Mr. Lockhart will soon be found here.
Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions - Madam Malkin is a squat, smiling witch wearing mauve robes - don't mess with her, though, she does have a quick hex hand. Madam Malkin's is next door to Flourish & Blott's. Hogwarts school robes are to be found here. During one summer sale, they sold robes which are spangled, self-ironing, beautifying, slimming, fattening, lengthening, temperature-adjusting, and plain, with a free frog-skin belt with every purchase.
The Magical Menagerie - The walls are covered with cages and the place is noisy with the sounds of all the animals. The proprietor is a witch who wears heavy black spectacles. She offers advice and sells things like rat tonic. Other creatures for sale included: enormous purple toads, gigantic tortoise with jewel-encrusted shell, poisonous orange snails, a fat white rabbit that changes into a top hat and back, cats of every color and breed, noisy cages of ravens, custard-colored furballs, sleek, and black rats - rather more intelligent than normal rats. Of course, she also provides pet food and treats and toys as well.
Obscurus Books - wrote a book? Looking for a publisher? Go to 18A Diagon Alley.
Ollivander's Makers of Fine Wands Since 382 BC - A narrow and shabby little shop. The window displays a faded purple cushion upon which sits a single wand. The walls are lined floor to ceiling with thousands of narrow boxes. The furniture consists of a single spindly chair. This store is currently hiring a new operator, since Mr. Ollivander's unfortunate disappearance.
Quality Quidditch Supplies - Find any and all of your Quidditch needs here. From robes to brooms and already-enchanted Quidditch balls!
Scribbulus Everlasting Inks - for your quills, parchment and ink needs.
Good As New Robes - For the frugal witch or wizard, robes here are half the cost of Madam Malkin's.
Street Peddlers - They may offer a deal, but be careful of what you buy - many items are merely replicas. Keep a close eye on that con-artist nephew of mine, Mundungus Fletcher - he's notorious around these parts.
Terrortours - Looking for a vacation? Head off to 59 Diagon Alley and visit the Wizarding Travel Agency! Currently offering:
-Transylvanian castles for rent, with the host a guaranteed vampires
-a trip down the "Zombie Trail" where you can come "face to face with the living dead!
-a cruise through the Bermuda Triangle where you'll see the remains of ships that "didn't spot the monster."
**Be ware - they accept no responsibility for death or injury.**
Twilfit & Tatting's - Take a left just past the ice cream parlour and head down Knockturn Alley. Just a few steps in is this store, suppliers of fine robes for the financially safe wizard or witch.
Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes - Now franchised! Locations in Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade and The Hallows!
WhizzHard Books - Turned down by Obscurus? Give these guys a go - a little less reputable, but they did take care of Quidditch Through The Ages.
For the witch or wizard dappling in the Dark Arts, you may try Knockturn Alley...'fraid I can't help much there though...never been quite brave to venture down that way myself.
Hope you find what you're looking for! Happy shopping!
