Many years ago, before humans existed as we know them, there was a battle. Not a war, war is too great a word. It was a power struggle, between the humans of the time and the vampires. Humans had the disadvantages of weak human flesh and were incapable of healing quickly as the vampires did, and began using other, more treaterous methods of harming the vampires. Sneaking into homes, poisoning, sniping...other things not to be said here...
These vampires that were wounded gathered the scent of the human weapon that had injured them, and wanted their vengeance. The brought the weapon used to harm them and the wound to their captain. The captain agreed that no others were to harm the humans with these scents, not until the vampire agrees that the others may harm them.
At the end of this battle, when humans retreated into the light, where they could safely live, the other vampires still held the paranoia that humans were going to attack them as they slept, or ate, or watched their children. Many of them had good reason. Most humans had fled, but there were still some that believed that they could use these sneak attacks and bring an end to what they called the plague of vampires across the nation.
As time passed, these families of vampires passed down the tradition of First Blood to their children, and their children passed it down to their children, and so on. Now, vampires can blend in with humans to an extent, for their existence, while known by some, is still widely denied among them. Humans still think that they are on the top of the food chain, and are the toughest things out there. Of course, most of the time, alcohol can add to this feeling of godliness, and sometimes the vampires have been victim to these.
The rule of blood has, over the years, become stricter as the attacks became smaller, but more viscious attacks, people sure that they can kill them, or sure that they will destroy a "master vampire" and bring about the end of one they think has become plagued. Now, the rule of First Blood applies to any wound to a vampire, anything that draws blood on a vampire, from an accidental cut with a letter-opener to the first punch of a bar brawl.
In this day and age, the rule of First Blood is still running strong among the vampires, and no other dare touch one if a human has so much as accidentally papercut a vampire.

Even arriving as early as they did, the number of fresh human bodies inside is overwhelming. These vampires decide that maybe the should grab a bite to eat before they continue on their assigned mission. They stake ot their prey, waiting for the right time to strike.
Three specific humans have also come to The Vampyre's Lair on this night. Three that do not belong. They are not into the nightclub scene, and do not know what they are doing here. One, because a friend dared him to. One who's friend's are trying to convince her that her breakup isn't the end of her life, and one merely examing the 'vampire' scene that she has no interest in.
For whatever reason, they have all been drawn to the same place on the same night. How...coincedental, for those who do not believe in fate. Those who have been brought to this place, for those who do believe in fate, have been brought for a reason.
It has been long since the rule of First Blood has been called upon, and it seems that this night leaves it enforced not only doubly, but three times. What is in store for these humans, having harmed these vampires?
Or, what is in store for these vampires, having been harmed by these humans? It is true that times have changed, and humans are no longer looked at as merely food for them. What will these vampires come up with as punishment for the humans? Or will they only release them without anything?
