It was a hot day in the city and a haze hung in the air. What could be seen of the sky between the tangle of buildings was white and dull, looking much like rain without any of the benefits.

Arwing lounged on a planter, underneath a sickly looking tree and assorted flowers. The soil below her was dry and warm, but the shade was welcome. Her golden eyes shifted lightly at the passing cars; the downtown traffic wasnt too busy this time of day, although it still offered a constant whirring. The lights changed, the cars stopped in line, waiting for the signal. She let out a light yawn as they stopped, eyes rolling to the sidewalk to watch the people bustle by the office buildings, the cafes. There were a lot of birds down here, perfect pray, but they would have to wait until later. Loose hybrids were deemed very dangerous due to the recent 'outbreaks'. Several people had been attacked and killed by their very own pets. This didnt surprise Arwing, it was a desire that had never really found its way out of the hybrid blood like; the desire for freedom. For clear blue skies and grassy fields. There was not an abundance of these around here, even the country side was littered with humans. The hybrids were becoming restless, they wanted out of captivity.

Arwing stretched, opening and closing her wings, eyes alert, ears perked. As long as there was no police officer, animal control, or other stuck up government personnel about, life was fairly easy for her, and any other stray hybrid. A tigon on a leash walked by her just then, they made brief eye contact, but no other acknowledgment was given. Life on the end of a leash was much easier, no doubt, but lacked the sort of freedom Arwing had grown to love, even at the heavy price it carried.

She lept from the planter, lightly padding into the alleyway. The rush would be coming soon and a main road was not the place to be. She jumped atop a dumpster and called lightly, her vocals musical and phoenix like, she waited to see if anyone else was about.

Zain gave a languid stretch, his fins giving a slight shudder as he did.He let out a large yawn as he started to trot through the small back yards of the houses surrounding his own, though he was always free to do as he pleased, he was rather fond of the place and it's owner, especially the nice little pool just for him, free of any nasty chemicals.

He started to make his way torwards the busier parts of towns, and though he didn't usually at such traffic heavy times of the day, there was always something he could find for a little meal.

Zain sloowed down at the clicking of hooves, the fins on his ears twitching forward as he raised his nose to sniff the air.Some slightly familiar smells mixed with other's he didn't know, and one that stood out from the rest.He continued forward, slower in his wariness of the sound and smell.It took him to an alley, and slowly he peered around the wall into his, searching for the sourse of the noises.

Dorian stoped and looked both ways, at one end of the ally another male, at the other a female. He twisted his head, mane moving slightly in the wind as he smiled softly. His timbered voice chuckled, as he looked at them. "Hello everyone, now who exactly do I have the pleasure of entertaining in my humble abode?"

Dorian smiled devishly handsome, as he troted up to the fem and bowed. "Well M'lady Arwing, I am Dorian." He stood up, and turned his head to one side. "What is a beauty like you, doing in my ally?"

She nodded lightly to them both, raising a brow lightly at the ticorns politeness.

"I was just going off for the afternoon, it isnt safe on the street. But, what business do you have knowing where I am going?"

If there was one thing arwing wasnt known for, it was courtesy.

She laughed lightly under her breath, her feathers rustling, puffing up a little before falling into place. she lingered, watching him for a moment with her unblinking eyes. her ears swiveled about, listening to the many city sounds. the sounds of hybrids in nearby yards, of people, of cars. She watched Dorian and Zain with mild interest, soft smile hinted upon her expression.
