So, how much can you guys here bench press? I can bench regularly 180 pounds and my one rep max is 200. Considering I'm only 14 and I weigh 153 pounds and stand at 5'7, that's a good bit of weight.
So how much can you guys bench? *Prepares to be imasculated* rofl

the most I've ever tried is like 20 lbs...but I don't really want muscle so it's not something I've tried.

and also.....technically the fact that a person can bench more than you doesn't emasculate you...unless the action of them lifting those weights starts a procedure to castrate you and remove all tesosterone from your body.

sweatdrop If you're easily intimidated by the amount another person can bench press, then you've probably got bigger problems with your self image and self confidence than you may think. When it comes to weight training some healthy competition can be good for motivation, but anything else could be very dangerous for the weight trainee. For example, in the last two years, I've been focusing more on developing my overall stamina, rather then my strength. I do chest presses with dumb bells, 4 sets of 25 reps at 25 lbs, right now. There's nothing particularly beneficial about having large arms, when the chest is otherwise underdeveloped especially if you intend to at some point and time use that muscle you're developing. After all, what good is having big guns when you've got no foundation for their support? Ever see a cannon without an equally strong foundation?
Anyway, I happened to have some gym time access a week or two ago, so giving it a go, I found it nice to see I could comfortably do 4 sets of 15 at 135lbs. Nowhere near the original posters 185, but I'm more than happy that I could do four sets comfortably. I expect the gym on my campus to be reopened for student access in the next week or two, so I may bring bench presses back into the mix again, but I'm not going to put strength training, over stamina building.
