Training Camp: Phase III

The third and final phase of training is designed to demonstrate teamwork and competition against other people. Also, being the fundementals of teamwork, from here people will be assigned into squads, where they will remain in for the rest of their career in the Black Templars, barring leadership change. You do not need to complete this course before you complete the other phases.

Adjecent to the Barracks and nearer to the firing range is a concrete wall, near ten feet tall, containing a number of ramshackle run-down buildings, looking as if they were quickly hobbled together. Truth be told, that's exactly how it was supposed to be. It was designed to simulate a small urban environment, and a poorly built one at that. This is exactly the sort of environments that they would be likely to encounter.

The concept of the third phase is fairly simple, capture the flag. The specifics of the rules is slightly different, however. As soon as the recruits got there, they were to report to the gates, where they would be assigned to one of the two teams, either red or blue. After that, they would take a mask, armband, and a paintball gun corresponding to their team. Entering from their side of the 'arena', their job would be to get to the opposite side and capture a lifelike "manequin", retrieving it back to their own base. Any shot to the torso or head is a killshot, and after that they would need to sit outside and wait untill the round was over before they could re-enter for the next one.

The Colonel was there, wandering the field, acting as a referee of sorts. He wore a bright ochre jacket, and woe be to anyone who shot him, on purpose or on accident. Before the start of the first match he reminded them all that it was far easier and more efficient to complete their objective, rather than to try and fight the opposing team. The did not gain credit for kills, but for the completion of their objective.

((If you guys have any questions as per the rules, please ask. It's better to clarify than to misunderstand the ruels and whatnot. Have fun. 3nodding ))

((I don't have any misunderstanding...We go in teams to capture a flag/hostage, and it is scored based on tactics/teamwork rather than kills. Not a Deathmatch, but rather a Scenario.))

Landry walked up to the entrance to the arena, and awaited to be greeted by Xenos or more members.

York nodded to the rules of the paintball match. He was wearing his dark brown trenchcoat. Under it was his belt. He felt his knife, which, as usual, was in a sheath right behind the wasteline on his belt. Then he felt his Desert Eagle in its holster, which he pretty much always had with him. This was all he was armed with at the time. The rest of his weapons were still in his duffel bag.

York sometimes felt more comfortable in his trenchcoat. He always talked himself out of wearing it in battle, though, because he wore it for undercover missions. However, when not in battle, it was pretty much all York wore, even if he wasn't undercover. He loved it.

York pulled out a cigarette and lit it with his lighter. He awaited for more people to arrive so that they could start up the training session. Only York and Landry were there at the time.

Carlos walked towards a giant wall and upon entering into its enclosed area saw two more Templar recruits. He nodded to each of them to show acknowledgement. The third phase, he thought to himself. He also wondered exactly how many phases the Colonel had in mind for them.

Kard slowly followed the recruits to the course. The damaged-looking buildings were already sporting old and discolored splotches of paint. He took a sigh and brushed a stray hair that had fallen out of his ponytail back up behind his ear. He was carrying no weapons on him. As he approached, he went off to the side and sat on a piece of fence a few yards away, waiting for the rest of the recruits to come. After a moment, Kard closed his eyes and opened his mouth in a wide but silent yawn, more like the yawn of a cat than of a person. After opening his eyes again he scanned around, looking at the colonel, then his fellow recruits.

Anderson jogged up to the others and jokingly called out, "Y'all better hope you are on my team!" he smiled and laughed afterwards. He then waved to Xenos and started streching.

"Unfortunately, Kyle, I don't think there is a rule about shooting the biggest smart a** on your team... so if we are on the same team, be ready for a hell of a lot bullets coming your way." York said smiling broadly. "No I'm kiddin' man." York said after a moment.

Kyle nodded, "You are right. But I don't remember reading a rule about shooting people shorter then you. If there is a rule about it...then except alot of "accidental misfires" that happen to hit you." Kyle playfully tapped York at the end of his sentance.

Landry looked over at the two clowns...

If you two boyfriends are done playing with each other, we should get ready...You especially for me shooting you in the face. BOOM Headshot!

He laughed afterwards, then stretched.

"Whatever." York said to Landry. "Be ready to take a bullet right in the beak!!!" York added quoting from a favorite movie of his. (The movie is Dodgeball for those of you who haven't seen it.)

"Alright alright alright." Kard said hopping off the fence and striding over to them. "We can all see that we like to talk, and we can all shoot, so how about a friendly wager?" Kard said with a grin. "Five bucks from each of us to the last guy to get painted, neh?"

Landry smirked and chuckled...

You're on, Kard.

"Well I guess I'll take a couple bucks from you all while I train--- ya know kill two birds with one stone." York said with a grin as he pulled out his money. He took a $5 dollar bill and placed the rest of his money back in his trenchcoat pocket.

Kard grinned even wider at Landry and York.
"What about you, Kyle? Man enough to put your money where your mouth is?"

"Yeah can you put your money where your mouth is bud?" York said to Kyle.

York turned to see if anybody else was coming. He was beginning to get sick of waiting for people to show up.

"Hopefully we can start this up before my clothes go out of style." York muttered sarcastically as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes. "Anybody want a cigarette?" York asked as he took a cig out of the box for himself.
