Post WHY you like Zax/Cloud!
I get to seem intelligent by copy pasting from my thread in the VII Guild. :]]

Most probably would think, she's a Yaoi fangirl, of course she likes the pairing, without any REAL basis.
1- I do love yaoi.
2- Cloti is my favorite pairing.
3- I am open to ALL pairings.
First of all, I haven't really looked very far into Crisis Core yet. From what I gather so far, Aeris is definitely Zack's love interest. I'm not saying that the ZackXCloud pairing has solid proof, but I'm saying that in my little head of fantasies, it's open for possibilites, and I think it makes sense, and that it's very sweet. <3 It's always been one of my favorite pairings.
On with the reasons!

What this shows, is basically all we see in FFVII of Zack. There were a few other, smaller times,(flashbacks really) but this is the main one that we see. And pretty much the only one we see of Zack AND Cloud together that is significant in any way.
First of all, Zack's death, tragic, no? I'm sure you're saying, any friend would risk their lives for one another as shown here.
Very close friends. I can't really say how long they've known eachother here, but I assumed that from playing FFVII, that this is typically where they first met. Though, it seems like something else has occurred before. What ever that may be, it hasn't been revealed. If so, tell me. X_X (That's why Crisis Core is being made biggrin )Whether they met or not before(Which is quite obvious they have, just saying...), I think it's more than amazing that Zack risked his life for Cloud, and stood by his side.
heart Last Order
Basically, it's the animated version of what was just posted above, lol.
"Final Fantasy VII: Last Order took place in two different time periods, one five years ago before the events of Final Fantasy VII and another just before the happenings of the game occurred. The first scene of the short film opened up the scenario for what would be taking place, concentrating on Zack and Cloud’s escape from the Nibelheim Shin-Ra Mansion."
So, those are the two time periods. I'm sure most of you have seen it. If not, I think that it's a lot more vague than the actual game. (Of course) Supposedly it's not canon at all, which I don't see how. I consider it Canon.
heart Final Fantasy VII Advent Children
Apparently, as stated in the youtube video under the FFVII section, in the beginning, Cloud's sword was on Zack's 'grave'. I don't know if I'm dumb to not of known that, or if it simply isn't true. Now that I hear that and look back at it, it DOES look like the place where Zack had died. If that's true, what a powerful thing to show firsthand, hmm? ;D
I am NOT trying to offend any Cleris fans at all, absolutely not, but when Cleris fans say, Cloud smiled at Aeris, Cloud said he'd live his life for Aeris, he was also saying those same things to Zack too. He felt I think, the same guilt about Zack that he did for Aeris. He had to watch them both die, while he did nothing to stop it. When Cloud says "I said I'd live both our lives" I thought he was talking about Zack. Others say Aeris, and some even say both. Also, about the smile in the end, just because Aeris says "everything is fine now, isn't it?" Doesn't mean he's smiling at her.
In fact, he's not smiling at her but both her AND Zack in my opinion. He sees them walk away, he sees that they are both safe and not wanting his forgiveness because they never blamed him in the first place. I thought that Zack saying "Looks like you're not welcomed here, that's too bad." was so sweet. D; It's like, he wants Cloud to be there with him. At least, that's one way to see it. The other way is that he's merely joking around like a friend, which is still cute anyways. :3

Now if this trailer doesn't show how strong of a bond Zack and Cloud have, I don't know what does!
About the names. Apparently, Zax Fair stands for 'fair weather', which is meant to contrast with Cloud Strife.
Interesting, no? ;3
Also, I was watching the Crisis Core trailer (The first one) and I noticed that in a line of all these rookies, whom all were wearing the same uniform, looking EXACTLY the same, Zack was able to point out Cloud. He walks up to Cloud and then walks past him, making a friendly gesture with his hand.
I just thought it was really cute. <3
In all of these, Cloud feels the same remorse for Zack as he does Aeris, and I think that's what makes the pairing I'm supporting here so possible. Cloud has a lot of flashbacks of him, a lot of memories. Ones that he doesn't want to forget. I think that a lot of things shown between Zack and Cloud could be a possible romance, because they've already got a strong realationship, and by any means, it could become even stronger... <3 If it weren't for the fact that Zack is not living anymore.(Which also has nothing to do with the bonds of eternal love! biggrin ) Zack definitely impacted Cloud as a character, and that's a solid fact.

Why do I love ZackxCloud eh?
Well I could state the obvious and say ' BECAUSE IT'S HOT' but I shall refrain from doing so (even though it is hot).
I guess I just really found the whole entire story of them really tragic, and a little shrouded in mystery. I first learnt about Zack through a CloudxKadaj fanfiction ( yeah, odd I know) and I found myself wanting Cloud to get together with Zack, rather then Kadaj! After that I looked up information on Zack, and gathered that Zack was very importiant to Cloud. He was his first real friend, treated him as an equal, and generally seemed to care about what happend to Cloud. Not to mention he sacrificed himself for the cute blond!
There story just kinda got to me, and I really started to like them as a couple. It seems very likley to me, and even though Crisis Core may be about Zack and Aerith together, we all know whats going on behind the scenes xd

I just wanted to say that at FIRST it may be about Zack and Aeris being together, but Aeris obviously seemed to be a bit... bitter towards him in FFVII. Though it seemed she also missed him as well, so I don't know. X_X
What I'm trying to say is that CC may start with the Zeris pairing, but slowing as the game progresses move out of it.

Luner covered most of it ^^;
But I do love the pairing because, not only is it hot, they work so well for each other. Needless to say, Cloud is not really the smiling kind of guy, but Zax is able to manage that ^^ Zax was the friend, and the mentor that Cloud needed ^^ They are the happiest together.

It's a shame when people think that the only reason we ship FairStrife is just because it's yaoi and they are both hot. Yes, it's true. Zack and Cloud look great together, but it goes much deep than that. They spent five years having nothing but each other when Hojo was testing on them and Crisis Core has begun showing us they had something going before the Nibelheim incident. Zack was the first to make Cloud smile, not Aeris or Tifa. He was Cloud's first real friend, and I think somewhere along the line (before Sephy snapped) that Zack replaced Sephiroth as his hero. And as for Zack's feelings for Cloud, the guy took Cloud with him when they escaped, (he risked Cloud slowing him down) planned his future (that never came *sob*) with Cloud, and in the end he died to protect Cloud. They are just such a beautifully tragic couple and I love them so. heart

I'm a sucker for bitter-sweet romance, for one thing. Tragedy makes my heart melt. Which is why I like any form of Zack/Cloud/Aerith. Especially all together. <3
I've never really thought about the reasons, per-say, Zack/Cloud just always appealed to me as a couple. Zack was the for Cloud in a way no one ever had been before, and never would be again. He looked out for Cloud, both subtly and visibly. In Advent Children, while Aerith used words of comfort, Zack was a presence. There like a pillar of strength. He didn't say much, but you could tell he was there for Cloud. Zack is the strength Cloud's weakness needs.
In Crisis Core and Last Order, he was Cloud's protection. People say they'd give their lives to save another person, but to actually do so is another thing all together. Zack gave it his all to make sure Cloud stayed safe. I think in a way he felt that while he was done being Cloud's protector, Aerith could somehow help Cloud in a way he couldn't anymore.
Boy, who would have thought trying to explain your favourite couple would be so hard... I'm still pretty sure I didn't quite convay it right. D8

Heh. Z/C/A is 3/4 of my OT4 pairing. It just needs Sephy to be complete.
