It was sometime in April when Sakura flowers were blooming that Hotaru-chan was transferred to the Alice Academy. The first impression i had on her was the 'whatever~' expression on her face.

Narumi, " She's your new friend, Imai Hotaru! Be nice to her~! Her ALICE is Invention,"

At the same time, Iinchou was thinking that it would be his responsibility to let her blend into the class.

" She was enroled into the school with 2 stars~! She has a ve~~~ry good reputation~! Ok, be quiet, " continued Narumi.

'Idiots', are definitely something spread through air, Hotaru thought. She puts on her mask and walked away.
Some students at the back were having not happy with her act while Narumi was confused why she did that.

At the end of the day, Hotaru-chan did not talk to anyone in class, neither did she become familar with the class. Next day...

Today too, i must make a proper conversation with Imai-san, Iinchou thought.

"Morning~" he greeted.

It was more than what i have expected. Hotaru-chan had familarized with the class, Iinchou thought as he saw her surrounded by classmates asking her questions on her inventions.

Hotaru was telling one of the students the kind of function of that the mask (Tamago Mask) that she was wearing has when after she was done, Iinchou approached her introducing himself.

After Hotaru replied, "nice to meet you," 2 other students approached Hotaru.

Apparently those students were 'friends' of Natsume. They were unpleased with Hotaru's arrogant attitude and that she has never said "Hi' to Natsume. One of them wanted Hotaru to show her face to him, she passed him another invention of hers, a pig mask.

And she fled. (hahah xD)

Since that day, Hotaru's life had not been peaceful. She had to arm herself with weapons to protect her from stupid attacks from her classmates. But of course, her classmates were no opponents of her xD

And because of that, she was called to the staff room for scoldings many times by Jinno-sensei xD
Due to that, Hotaru found Jin-Jin really noisy and that she wished to be in a quieter place. Hence she invented the Caterpillar home~ (she used that in ep 4 to hide herself from Mr. Bear in the forest)

Iinchou met up with Hotaru after which. He was telling Hotaru about the Top Student Award in the academy and that she would stand a chance if only she could get herself out of the mess.

Just then, Natsume and Ruka appeared!!

The other student that was fooled by Hotaru was complaining to Natsume.

Hotaru looked at Natsume while both Natsume and Ruka were looking at her.

Natsume... Hotaru thought.
The Union Student something... Natsume thought.

Then somehow, the atmosphere turned into a 'Whoever goes off first wins" situation.

"Eh? Natsume, are you going off already?" said someone.
"We're busy right now! Stupid!" returned Natsume.

And Natsume left. (He won xD)

And because of that, Hotaru invented Speedy Swan ^0^/
At the same time, she invented some spying gadets xD

She was already making use of such gadgets that she has invented to take photos of Ruka and sold them off secretly. (Apprarently, Sumire seems to be one of her regular customers xD)

Soon after, Hotaru was promoted to a 3-star student. However, she was not happy at all.
She was thinking of all the letters that she has received from Mikan.

It looks like Hotaru had been trying to reply her letters but all of her letters got rejected by the school except for the one on summer and that she wanted watermelon.

After Hotaru mailed out her 'approved' letter, Narumi and Misaki-sensei approached her. (Hotaru was playing puppets with Kokoroyomi xD)

"What is it?" Hotaru asked.
"Erm... I heard that you seemed to be feeling down these days so... if there's anything that you would like to talk about, feel free to tell me ♥" said Narumi.

"These guys were told by some great authorities to come and persuade you to make some machines..." said Kokoroyomi.

"It's difficult to do this..." said Narumi as he passed Hotaru a stack of letters, "It's a bit off to ask you at this point of time... but because of your ALICE, there are many fans out there wanting you. I wonder if that would help cheer you up..?"

Hotaru looked at Narumi as though accepting his words.

"Ah! Could it be some love relationship problems that you're having instead of homesick? If that's the case, i can be of great help...!" added Narumi. He was bashed up shortly by Misaki-sensei for saying such things.

Hotaru, in the meantime, was thinking of punching the 2 of them. Hence, she invented the Horse-shoe Glove and Deer-shoe Glove for punching xD

Back to when Hotaru was alone. She was reading one of her fans' letters. She felt that the handwriting was untidy xD

Dear Imai Hotaru,

I am an old man from Italy. I am a big fan of your makers.
Last year, i lost a couple of daughters and is feeling lonely.
I have a request from you. I hope you could make me a cute robot.
One that would not die before me, a very very very very very cute robot, that would always be by my side giving my energy....

And the robot was made! It was Penguin! (a cute robot)

Somehow, it looks like that baka (fool)... Hotaru thought. She was thinking of Mikan as she played with her new invention.


"Oh yes oh yes, Mikan-chan," said Iinchou. " Do you know when was the first time Hotaru-chan smiled ever since she came?"

"Hmm? No... when? when?" replied Mikan.

"It was on the day that Mikan-chan came," answered Iinchou.

After hearing that, Mikan flew herself at Hotaru. That made Hotaru said, "What is it? You're being disgusting..."


「Come here, Baka」 -- Hotaru
