Hey, guys. If you don't know who I am, I was the original captain of this guild. After some tribulation and drama, I decided to try and sell the guild because it was inactive. Niht stood up for the about three active people left and after more drama, I forfeit the guild to her instead of selling it, on the premise she'd make the guild active again and keep the archive subforum.

Well, It's been about half a year now and the guild has become dead once again. I've managed to pull some favors and become captain, skirting around Niht.

It seems most of you members don't come here any more, and a lot of the roleplays are dead. I've lurked this guild for quite a while, popping in from time to time.

To be blunt and quick, I've grown out of roleplaying, or become tired of it. Either way, I don't do it any more. But I do enjoy reading back on past roleplays for shits & giggles.

I am left now with a decision.

a.) Sell the guild (because of it's low id number, it's extremely valuable)
b.) Keep the guild the way it is, as a sort of archive type thing.
c.) Turn the guild into something new.

I know there aren't many of you left, but I'm willing to hear your opinions. What would you prefer?

I love this guild and it's memories, but I kind of want to start over and make a new active guild. It has the potential to be something else. I don't know what the something else could be yet, but the main factor is it could be. I really don't want to run another roleplaying guild, though.

I like keeping all my things for posterity. If I made a new guild out of this one, I'd either keep the archive forum as it is, or I would make a chatterbox thread with all the posts in it. I've done chatterbox threads, before.

Regardless, this is a long read. What are your wishes?
I've gotten in too much trouble for making my own decisions before, so whoever's here... It'd be great if you spoke up, and spoke true.

edit: For the time being, I've moved all the threads in this main forum to the archive subforum (dead threads). If your RPs are actually still active, you can post in there, or I'll move 'em back for you.

It's sad this guild became this way. I joined someway through the dead period and it only picked up once for a few days (at least to me) before dying again.

So I'll give my suggestions although, maybe some won't see mine as one that counts seeing as I wasn't around much at all.

Don't sell the guild. Memories are precious and pretty much what this place has left. Archiving all the threads seem like a good idea, that way all the work that went into posting wasn't lost.

Turning the guild pretty much sounds like the cream of the crop. Maybe you could have a subforum and call it the crimson ibis and keep it there for those that want to still rp. Although, with the inactivity lately, who knows if that'll hold up.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Well I posted in the Registered Guilds forum about selling the guild, and it's not getting much attention. It seems like the guild is a little too pricey. Apparently with the amount of money in our guild account combined with the guild id number turns into a price nobody wants to pay. I'll try the captain's guild, but really I don't want to sell the guild. I'm just interested in how much it would go for if I did sell it.

I want to make it anew guild, somethign completely new, but I don't know what to make it into. I suppose a subforum with everything in it would work, but I would want to make it a forum you can only look in, not post in.

Thanks for replying.

Hey man,
Well here's my view on the whole thing.
There where a few active members who did I think give things a bash at getting role-plays started. But with life and all that, I think most of them coudln't get around to posting at least once a day.
My roleplay was left hanging for weeks till some one would get a chance to post.
Personally I think it would be very dificult to get this guild active again. We just don't have the active numbers to keep rp's up to date, or to attract new and fresh ideas.
Turning it into an archive sounds like a good idea, but how many people will actually come back and look at the threads?
This guild feels like a peice of history, but its not moving anyware at the moment. I wouldn't have a problem if you sold it. I would say 90% of the people who where here when we started this guild have left.

Last time I tied to sell the guild, there were 200 members, but I could count the active members on one hand.

*sigh* Man, does everything good have to go and die?

I agree with Phoenix Sun in that I don't think you should sell it. It's a shame that it doesn't seem to be redeemable as a roleplay guild. It doesn't seem right to have the guild be anything else. What do you have in mind to turn it into?

I also think that a roleplay subforum sounds like a good idea, for old times' sake...? Maybe you could make it an everything-guild like Descent Into Oblivion, which has loads of subforums for different types of roleplays, art and discussion, and which is all literate.

Ah, I remember this guild. I liked the RP's in it quite a bit, and then it died, so I kinda just walked out, and found RP's elsewhere...... It's honestly really sad, cuz whenever I think of this guild now I think of a near dead thing that dosn't really give me anything..... I'd LOVE to see it revived, but that might be too hard to do.... I dunno.

I don't have any really good ideas for what you should do with the guild, Q, but I still do check in here from time to time.

I really do like the idea of taking it, kind of making it into a mini-Gaia with literate people involved. It could have sub-forums for discussions of the political nature and intelligent ideas about art, blah blah blah. I also really like the idea of having an RP thread called the Crimson Ibis. A lot of people that like to discuss ideas might also have the imagination, capacity, and want to roleplay as well. The variety would bring many people together in one place and allow them to communicate with one another while trying out new things. =3

I hope you find something to do with the Ibis. I really liked it here, eventhough I was never that active because I was always lurking. ^_^

I'm sorry for not posting for so long (not like we all check here anyway).

A while back I decided I would like to change this to a scavenger hunt game guild. It'd basically be a hangout guild, but there would be a sponsored scavenger hunt with prizes, etc.

I had PMed the infamous Intelli Gent asking about how he makes his thread, and he gave me some tips but as we all know I procrastinate like all hell.

Not to mention that due to recent events I'm not nearly as rich as I used to be, and thus funding such events (even monthly) would really hurt me.

If I ever get into a situation where I'm not procrastinating on this, or somehow come to some epiphany on how to make the first scavenger hunt (I'm sure it'll be cake once I pass the first one), I'll let those interested know.
I already have a list of people who would like to be PMed when the guild is done, even though that was months a go.

When looking at my guilds I was thinking. "What the hell? When did I join this one?" Then I realized it was the ibis wink .

If you still look at this thread Q(Not sure looking at the dates of the last posts) I'm still around if you need me! Still have much love for the Crimson Ibis.

I have no idea how I got here. But if someone wants forums to role-play in. I have about 50-70 extra subforums sitting around in one of my guilds that are not being used and are not likely to be used any time soon. PM me if you want a subforum, I guess?
