I recently put up a discussion about Christianity in ED. I don't know what to do about it. Try as I might to emphasies that the point of the discussion wasn't to get anyone upset didn't change things.

I'm looking for suggestions of how to approach the topic of Christianity without making a bunch of people on both sides upset.

Tell me what you think.

Well, you can never please both sides. That is why there are two side. They disagree. So, all I can tell you is to stick to exactly what the Bible says and then you will be doing the right thing, or you can just stay out of it.

I agree w/ Kaki Pan. Sometimes discussion can lead to that. Just try to be as tactful as you can, but most importantly, stick to your guns and what the Bible tells you to be true.

I have this problem alot too. One of my camp leaders gave me some advice before I went to hand out tracts. "Don't be afraid to offend people, and don't be afraid to make them uncomfortable." Discomfort often means they are doubting themselves, and then you can go to them and they are more receptive to Christ. ^^

This is true. I don't think Jesus ever worried about offending people when he was teaching. He was more than happy to put the Pharisees in their place biggrin Plus, we don't have a spirit of fear in us but a spirit of truth, of courage, etc. However, I do believe a level of tacit is necessary when witnessing to people. Just because we shouldn't be afraid doesn't mean we should go around telling them how wrong they are and that they're going to hell. It isn't going to drive them to the cross, nor is it an expression of Christian love. Not saying that you did this Yakushi, I'm sure you didn't. But, I'm just highlighting this truth because it needs to be recognized. Often there are a lot of Christians out there that throw their righteousness in non-Christian's faces, and thats wrong.
