Aztec had arrived at his quarters in the Yellow Barracks. Entering he turned on the lights and set his bag on the bed. There was a desk with a comfortable office chair and a desktop computer already ready for him. Taking the advice of Commander Tideus, he looked for the database of the various races that serve or could potentially serve on this station. He spent the next hour familiarizing himself with the most common. Triforians, Aquitians, Edenoites, Xybrians, there was a lot to learn. He also had to add the various worlds where humans evolved besides his own. Although they were technically the same species, there were significant cultural differences.

After reading over the various races and cultures he recieved an e-mail announcement about a mission in the training dome in the morning. "Wow, they don't waste time do they?"

Aztec returned to his room and saw his computer had reported an e-mail message.
Admiral Oliver requires a report of your mission and an honest evaluation of each of your teammates as soon as possible. Please be prompt in this and turn it in to me.
Commander Tideus.
"Well it looks like I have homework to do while I recover," he said to himself. "Time to get to work..."

..."Well I finished typing up my report. I think I'll just send it by e-mail to my CO and the Admiral. I was told to take it easy the next few days after all..." After sending it to the necessary offices, Aztec decided to write a letter to home...

Omega sighed as he entered the Yellow Barracks and sat down on the nearest seat. "Stupid meteor shower.." He said looking as if he had the space equivalent of sea sickness.
An indigo colored orb popped up next to Omega and grinned at him. For the time being, the orb hovered there with a wide grin until it sprouted rabbit ears. "C'mon big brother. It was beautiful."
"You only say that cause you were watching from the planet we were passing over. I was in that ship when it happened. We got jostled around as if we were in an earthquake situation."
The orb then grinned more as it continued gazing at him. "Hehe...buuuuut..."
"Don't even say it. I know the ship was called the Delta, but that doesn't count for anything so don't use that sick joke sis.."
"Awwww....but it works so well.."

Aztec completed his letter to his family, detailing his first space voyage and his first training mission. He also admitted to getting injured but the simulation was harder than it was supposed to be. He then grabbed his crutches and left his room to the common room of the Yellow Barracks and found another cadet sitting there...with an indigo orb with bunny ears. He approached him and decided to introduce himself, "Hello there, my name is Aztec, I don't believe we've met. It's nice to meet you."

Omega looked at Aztec and smiled. "Nice to meet you too. My name's Omega and this is my younger sister Delta." He said pointing to the bunny-eared orb. "What happened to you?" He asked curiously looking at the crutches.

Aztec took a seat carefully and propped his injured ankle up on the seat next to him, "Well I just finished a simulated mission a few hours ago and unfortunately the difficulty level was accidently set higher than it should've been. In order to even damage the final boss, I had to set my blaster at his feet and let someone shoot it to cause a major explosion. Unfortunately I had to be near it to make sure the bad guy didn't get too far away from the blaster before it went off, hence I was caught in the explosion too. My Ranger suit protected me for the most part but I was demorphed and I still got a sprained ankle. I'm curious too, how is Delta your sister? I've never seen anything like her."

"Sorry to hear that. I hope I don't get beat up that badly when it's my turn to go there." He then looked at Delta who sighed. "Our family tree is a little screwy. Not in the sense of inbreeding or anything, just in my immediate family, our family didn't turn out like everyone thought. Our mom, Dawn, is a cat and our dad, Trevor, is a dog. My identical twin brother, Sigma, and I are wolves like our grandma, Jessica. Delta is a rabbit taking after our grandpa Max. Lucky, our youngest brother is a dog like dad and his twin sister, Anna, is a cat like mom." After his explanation, the rest of the family showed up. Each orb having corresponding ears to their breed and species. "Guess I'll explain the colors too. Ok, Delta is indigo, because that's her fur color. Dad was brown, though white in a few spots. Mom was white with blue stripes. I guess the blue and white mixed and she became a cyan colored orb. Lucky was green with a white patch over his left eye. Sigma had dark blue fur which was so close to black we decided that it was navy blue. Anna was blue with white stripes yet remained blue for some reason. And grandma kinda had greenish fur and became kind of a dull olive-like color. And they're all orbs cause they died. Everyone in my entire family is dead leaving me as the sole survivor of a massacre that happened when me and Sigma were five. It happened during our family reunion. Why it happened...I don't know...I just want to make sure they didn't die in vain." He said as he looked down.

Aztec looked down sadly, "I'm sorry to hear about what happened to your family and I'm sorry if I upset you. So if I may ask, what prompted you to become a Ranger?"

"It's alright." He said as he smiled a little. "I pretty much decided to become a ranger to adventure more and battle evil. I've been all about justice and stuff like that since I was a kid. I also decided to come here to get away from my planet. I know I'll have to go back there someday, but maybe by the time I do return, people will have given up on hunting me and things will have changed. Even if it doesn't by then, I'll make sure to change it." He said as he stretched.

Aztec nodded at his new friend, "Well I do hope that you'll be able to return to your homeworld someday. Believe me I know what it's like to have your whole planet under siege. My homeworld of Mirinoi was nearly destroyed by an evil force but a group of Rangers saved it. One of them was from my world and it was them that inspired me to join this academy."
