Elandere found himself in the gardens of the city. He sat on the steps leading to them from the house. With a sigh, he put his head in his hands. Had he really been that stupid? He had not believed Lenora. He had not wanted to believe her. But it was true. And now... Now he was left alone in Middle-earth.

Elandere looked up to the sky, watching the clouds drift by overhead. He had heard the enterance of Gabriel's army, but he simply did not care. The Elf was angry and upset, but most of all... torn inside.

Lenora walked outside, closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Silence..complete silence. This was usually a bad thing....but it felt good to have her head clear. When she opened her eyes she saw movement. Elandere was not too far away...she quickly moved to hide behind a tree. The look on his face torn at her heart. How she wanted to run to his side and kiss away his tears. It was not her place to do so..so she watched and waited...she seemed to do that a lot lately.

Elandere stood, walking over to the nearest tree and gently touching it's rough bark. He closed his eyes, converying his emotions to the mighty elm before him. The tree, in turn, rustled it's leave, offering comfort to the Silvan Elf. He smiled lightly, opening his eyes and starring into the tree's mighty boughs. Quickly, he jumped up into the branchs, feeling a sense of comfort and safety radiating from the elm that he desperately longed for.

It never cease to amaze her, though she had watch him do it before. Lenora realized she could now be seen, she stepped out from behind the tree and acted like she had no idea Elandere was there. She closed her eyes and listened to the birds sing and wished she too could fly away. So much sorrow filled her world lately..and she knew more was to come.

Elandere could see Lenora through the leaves of the tree. He said nothing for a long while, but eventually spoke up. "Care to join me?" he asked.

Lenora almost jumped at the sound of his voice...she had indeed forgotten he was there. She turned and looked up into the tree and smiled softly. "Elandere..you startled me. I would love to join you...but I'm affraid I can not climb well with these shoes or dress on." She looked down at the sky blue gown of silk she wore and wished she was back in her leather.

The Elf leaned down on the branch, extending his hand to her. "Then I shall pull you up instead."

Lenora raised a brow and then smiled. She walked over to his hand and took hold.

Pulling up quickly, Elandere had Lenora sitting in the tree in no time. "Perhaps you should wear clothes more fitted for climbing. Dresses do not become you." he said, though he did not smile.

Lenora adjusted her skirts to cover her legs and smirked. "Well..it's not like I planned on tree climbing when I got up this morning...but I couldn't agree wiht you more. I feel much more comfortable in my leather...with my sword at my side."

"Then why wear a dress?" Elandere asked as he watched the woman. "If you are more comfortable in your other clothes, that is."

Lenora smiled softly before she spoke, as shadows danced in her frosty eyes. "I am not needed here in battle...it only seemed fitting to wear a gown. I wished to feel and look like a princess...but I'm just playing dress up."

"Just because you are not needed on the battlefield, doesn't mean that you have to change the way you dress." Elandere replied, leaning back againt the tree trunk, his hands behind his head. "It is just... well... I had never seen you in such garments before, but it is alright if you just wanted to be different for a while. Everyone has such feelings."

Lenora swung her feet over the branch and let them dangle. "I used to wear such dresses often..at least..I think I did. It seems silly in such dark times to even pretend. I should be doing what I know best....not trying to change."
