Okay, quite being a pansy and admit it.
  OKAY!!!....I imported...T-T
I imported, but only because I see an opportunity to practice my Japanese.
NO! I shall never import this game! Support GS4! (even if it has been confirmed for the US already)

Okay, I'll admit it. I IMPORTED! However, it is for a different reason then just wanting to play the game early. But that's not why this thread was made.

What's up with Godot? I've played up to Atmey's testimony in the second case, and I'm curious to know...

1. How can Godot be a well-known prosecutor if he hasn't actually done any cases yet? *note* I got the joke at the start of the trial. That's not what I'm asking about.

(This one may be spoilerific if answered)
2. How did Edgeworth know about Godot if he's been out of the country?
Atmey says that Edgeworth called him a Great Prosecutor. But Ol' Edgey's been off somewhere, and never had a chance to even meet Godot!

If I'm going to find out later, and telling me all this now would be spoilerific, don't answer.

Well after he found out about Mia's death he became a prosecuting attorney in hopes of facing against Phoenix in court. So he has been a prosecuting attorney long enough to be well known and take on some cases.

Edgeworth knows about a lot of things. Even knew about the case Phoenix was taking on in JFA case 3 but only because he read the papers. You have to remember... Edgeworth was raised as a von Karma.

Ah yes. I forgot about Miles being raised by Von Karma. That would explain that. 3nodding And Godot's been prosecuting for two years? That should be enough time to build a rep, I suppose. Thanks for answering. I didn't think anybody was going to show up. This place is...pretty quiet. ninja Quieter then I thought it was going to be, anyway.

Yeah the sub-forum tends to be very.... quiet.

It should, not to mention he was a defense attorney first so one would assume that he would use that experience to win his cases (you know, knowing what the other person is thinking an trying to by-pass it).

Finished the game. Might I say that it was great.....

Don't know if you finished the game or not but everything will be greatly explained when you finish!

1) Anywho, Godot's first case as a prosecutor is in Case 2. The judge makes note that Godot's "reputation precedes him" (paraphrase).
It's possible he used his rep as a defense attorney to build a new one.

2) Edgeworth didn't know about Godot. He mentions this in Case 5, when Gumshoe talks about him. Edgeworth calls him "great" after the first trial and after he's done background checks at the police department.
Perhaps he looked up 「Diego Armando's」 official case files.

@junkie95: I think there are just a couple loose ends, that weren't concluded. Indeed, the game is good, but it left some questions unanswered which I won't go into for spoiler's sake.

1.) Seems possible. But at the same time, they would have to know he's Diego and didn't even die.

2.) Edgeworth does know Diego though. Case 4 I believe?

Perhaps a GS5 would come up and go back to Phoenix? Who knows.

Starting to head into spoiler territory now. So, for the OP, highlight at your own peril(lul, peril).

For the second question, 「yes, Edgeworth probably remembers Diego. However, Godot is Diego's alias. So the name 'Godot' shouldn't ring bells for Edgeworth.

And it doesn't, as he states he's never heard of Godot (I'm assuming Luke Atmey was bluffing when he used Mile's name to intimidate Phoenix). Edgeworth says this in Case 5 when Gumshoe mentions all the buzz about Godot. Apparently he's one of the first people to know about new promising prosecutors. Although, the only way he wouldn't know, is if the prosecutor was switching over from defense (paraphrase).

Also, according to Godot, none of his poisoning files officially states he died.

I'm really not sure how Godot got a reputation to begin with. what about Odoroki D:

Yes he didn't actually die, but that was what everyone assumed.

Godot is more of an enigma >.>

What about Odoroki?

I know. How you manage to even become a prosecutor with a fake name, also makes no sense. Or defend with cardboard badges...

Chi-ta
What about Odoroki?

Forgot to finish my sentence D: I meant to say I was interested in GS5 continuing Odoroki's arc, rather than Phoenix's.

It makes me wonder why no body said anything about the cardboard badge >.>

Ah... Well most likely GS5 would continue with Odoroki's arc... and then GS6 if it goes that far. Next thing you know, a new lawyer comes about.

Wow. I didn't expect so many responses. xp I managed to figure all of this out. I beat the game a week ago, and I put all the pieces together, basically exactly what Cloud Riven said. Now, I switch this topic to speculation. Did Godot....(Highlight for spoilers) Get the death penalty? I think that he did, but, technically, he killed her to save somebody else.

Also, about GS5, I'm hoping that they carry on with Odoroki's storyline, but maybe they'll have a seperate, continuing arc for Naruhodou san's return. However, the more I think about it, the more I realize that Nick's story is over and done with. crying I'll just have to get used to....*gulp* APOLLO. gonk
PostPosted: Wed Sep 19, 2007 2:16 pm

Well... I don't think that would be a reasonable punishment. I think he would just be in prison for a long time because he didn't do something like Dahlia did.

Apollo is a good first name. It's the Justice part that I need to get use to.

Apollo Justice..... The whole name just sounds wrong to me. Apollo is a...different first name. (Like Phoenix isn't. xd ) Apollo will probably grow on me, if given time. I think I'll get over it, as long as the characters don't call him, "Mr. Justice." gonk ( I know they will. crying ) Maybe I'm just sad that I won't be playing as Nick anymore...

BTW, Does anybody else have the strongest feeling that Edgeworth will show up in GS5? *crosses fingers* whee
